3/19 Rooster at the Mutt Backblast

Music has always been a huge part of my life.  I’m almost always listening to music and I love listening when working out.   I’ve started bringing tunes to my workouts. (See my valentine’s Q at the Mutt).  This time I wanted to incorporate music directly into at least a portion of my weinke.  What better song to get everyone hyped as well as get the body working than THUNDERSTRUCK!  That opening guitar and buildup to Brian Johnson’s vocals gets me jacked every time. I couldn’t wait to get started.

PAX: Tron, Wham-o, Deuce, Fridge, Grinder, Geppetto, Blueprint, Mary Poppins, Beano, Tiger, Draper, Windshield, Water Boy, Glen Ross, Messi, Sump Pump, Backdraft, Sherpa, Meatball, Larry Flint, Left Eye, Plumb Bob (Q)

After our pleasantries and a quick mosey we started our warmup with 15 SSH, 20 Imperial Walkers, downward dog and calf stretches.

THANG 1: THUNDERSTRUCK

Plank during the entire 4:50 song with a merkin on every THUNDER.  About halfway through you could start to hear the moans from the PAX as the shoulders were beginning to burn.  I don’t regret a single second of it.  I even found my self bobbing to the beat and singing along, anything to take my mind of the burn.

THANG 2: Dora

P1: 50 Merkins, 100 Overheads, 150 Big Boys, 200 Curls, 250 American Hammers, 300 Bench Press, 350 Lunges, 400 Rows (not sure if anyone got this far)

P2: Run across the parking lot and do 10 plank jacks.

Music was playing the whole time and for me at least, it made the time pass really quick.  Overall it was a simple weinke but it got the whole body moving.

We mosied back to the flag for Name-o-Rama, announcements, and COT.
