Back Blast – 02/02/2020 – F3 Dads @ The County

infinity

PAX: SweetTART, Meter Maid, Grizzly, Captain Crunchberry (QIC)

Weather: Sunny, upper 50’s.

Because it isn’t normal to have upper 50’s in February, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get outside with the kids.  My kids love coming to these F3 Dad things, and I’m happy to set it up when weather / time / scheduling allows.

I was off my game, and I failed to do any disclaimer, or COP.  I started talking with the kids about what I had planned, and we were off to the races. Literally.

We had split the attendees in to 2 groups.  It was SweetTART, and his 2.0s (Metronome, Thing 1 and Thing 2 maybe that should be Thang 1 and Thang 2), along with Grizzly and his 2.0 (Cubbie) on one team.  The second team was Myself, my 2.0 (Goggles), Meter Maid and his 2.0 (Parking Ticket), and I brought along Asphalt’s 2.0 (unnamed until Asphalt can attend.)

I had laid out some cones in the field to create a “figure 8” or infinity.  The idea was we would be able to run in a predetermined amount of space, and not “loose” anyone.  Team one ran one direction, and team 2 ran the opposite direction. When you encountered a member of the opposing team, you would play rock/paper/scissors.  The winner continues running.  Looser proceeded to work on the ladder.  Continue the run until there was only one person remaining.  We ran this 3 or maybe 4 times.  Parking Ticket won the first couple of rounds, and I think Grizzly the last 2 maybe.  It was kind of a controlled chaos.  With a large majority of the 2.0 being at, or around 5 year old.

The ladder consisted of 10 high knees (each leg), 10 lunges (each leg), 20 SSH, 20 Squats, 20 Merkins, 30 Dips, 30 Air Press

We followed that up with some “Follow the Leader.” We proceeded to mosey around the outside perimeter of the field, doing random exercises along the way.  We got some merkins, burpees, mountain climbers, gas pumps, and flutter kicks.  To get around, we did moseyed, Bernie Sanders, Super Mario, and All you Got.

Final Word: Today’s message was infinity, or everlasting.  John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” I distributed some Ring Pops with a brief explanation about the never ending circle that a ring represents.
