Originally scheduled to be a Dauber Q, but with a little luck (or maybe the opposite) the PAX got me instead.
The weather was just about perfect, mild temperatures, and little drizzle ever now and then.
15 PAX would make the trip out. McStuffins, PCI, Brown Water, Air Raid, abacus, Gisele, Wildflower, EZ-Pass, Martha Stewart, Audible, Tinkle, Kitty Litter, Cochran, Lady Bird, and myself.
I generally try to come up with some over elaborate theme for a wienke. Today was just simple station work. I did the stair climb Saturday, then a long run (insert humble brag, it was 16 miles, a PR on distance) Sunday, followed by a “recovery” run Monday night. I didn’t know how I would feel, there was a good possibility my legs would be on strike. So, I planned it out so everyone could move at their own pace, pushing as hard as they wanted.
Station 1 – Main Lot – Arms – Exercises were Curls, Skull Crushers, Overhead Press and Rows.
Station 2 – Parish Office – Abs – Box Cutters, Flutter Kicks, Windshield Wipers, and BBSU.
Station 3 – Front Lot – Legs – Squats, Lunges, Monkey Humpers, and Calf Raises.
Station 4 – Portico – Other Stuff – Merkin, Derkins, Dips, and Step Ups.
For the first round everyone would do 10 of each exercise. The second time through, increase to 15 each. While I didn’t announce it, if anyone made it to a third round, they were supposed to increase again, but I have no clue if that happened, either way, work was done.
As time started to get close, we gathered up for a 60 second plank until time.
Ended with announcements and intentions.
Normally this is where I include the “Naked Man Moleskin.” I’m going to rename this to the “Paul Harvey” section. Where you get… The rest of the story…
I haven’t Q’d in a long while. My attendance at normal “boot camp” workouts has been about as sporadic (Harry Caray, that is what we call a normal “workout”.) Some due to #1 – injury (recovery), #2 – priority to running, the rest due to #3 general laziness because of items one and two.
Hopefully I can find a happy balance on both the boot camp and running.
Until next time!
