BB – Bayside, 10/24/23

I had marked this date down as my Q some time ago not realizing it would fall in the Ghost Q week. Keeping it unknown to the fine HIMs at Bayside, 15 gathered in our normal spot in the crisp 49 degree Shelby County air. 05:30 hit still missing a couple of our HC’s, but disclaimer given. For those familiar with Bayside, it is an active campus. Cars were gathering close to the courtyard and the lights were already on in the gym. Preseason conditioning for basketball made me question my planned use of the courtyard. I reminded the Pax that good form would need to be demonstrated for the arriving athletes.

Normal COP with stretches, SSH, HBW, AV, GG and Planks

Thang: 4 stations with 3 exercises. We split the 15 into 4 groups. Do the 1st exercise in each station, then return to the center courtyard for 10 SSH before moving to the next station. After doing the 4 stations, return to the courtyard and SSH for the 6. We then ran up the drive to the Stop sign and back. Move to Exercise 2 at each station, 10 SSH, Move, 10 SSH, Move…….. After the 3rd round was completed, we had about :10 left, so sent back to each station to pick 1 of the 3 exercises to repeat.

20 counts for all – Station 1: Merkins, Decline Merkins, Incline Merkins Station 2: Big Boys, Flutter Kicks (IC), Freddie Mercuries (IC) Station 3: Shoulder Taps, Mountain Climbers (IC), Groiners Station 4: Box Jumps / Step Ups, Jump Squats, Monkey Humpers

Ran back towards the Flag and circled up for a quick round of Nuclears starting from 7 to finish the time.

I was on vacation last week, so today was the closest date to 10/18 – the 1 year mark of my return to the gloom after missing almost 6 months. The message I wanted to share was to look around and find the one(s) missing and reach out. It is so easy to stop and difficult to return. Encourage the missing to be there with us. They need it as much as we do. Our crowd today only had 1 brother there that started before me. Make it a point to contact someone that helped you along the way. And, a huge THANKS to all who made my return a success with support and encouragement.
