Backblast – 6.22.2024 – The Nest – Captain Crunchberry Q

Better late than never I guess…

Reading a well written backblasts is the cherry on top of your ice cream sundae. It’s like finding that hidden beer in the back of the fridge when you thought you were out. It’s like… well, you get the idea.

This is not one of those backblasts though. This is likely more like taking a drink from a beer that you thought was your beer, but was really someone else’ IPA.

I did not anticipate covering a whole lot of distance for this weinke. So I made sure to advertise the pre-run for anyone looking for Sandlot miles.

We started with a simple mosey to the front lot where I fumbled though a few warmup exercises consisting of Toy Soldiers, Ab Vigodas, Downward Dog, Michael Phelps, and maybe something else. We then circled back to the portico.

At the portico I had a weinke board that had 4 exercises for the major muscle groups – arms, core, and legs. We split off into partners. PAX #1 would perform as many reps as time would allow while PAX #2 would run to the stairs, up the stairs, and back. Flip flop, rinse and repeat with next exercise.

Exercises:ARMS: Merkins, Dips, Overhead Press/Clap and Inchworm Shoulder Taps

ABS: LBC, Gas Pumps, Heel Touches, and V-Ups

LEGS: Squats, Lunges, Calf Raises and Glute Bridge.

Throw in a mosey lap, and some stretching, and we actually ended up with just over 3 miles actually.

It was a rather quiet morning, even though no one had to count. I’m sure it was a magical experience, and had I written the backblast more timely, I could have told the story better. But that is all for now. Crockpot, if you’re still reading, I’m sorry I missed your birthday.
