For my 6 year post-versary (7/3/18), I went back to Day 1 and reran Grandpa Bear’s Q from my Day 1. Thankful that he had done a BB for the beatdown! The morning air was thick and a warm 73 on my truck thermo. 19 HIMs joined – Birdie (2.0’s Firing Pin and Slugger), Borland, Eye Booger, Friendly Fire, Grandpa Bear, Hightower, Jabber Jaw, Jesco, Kitty Litter, Little Foot, Mom Suit, Mothball, Sadie, Slide Rule, Texas Twinkie, and a FNG we named Sour Dough (headlock by KL, MS, and MB).
Disclaimer and credit to GPB for plagiarizing the Q. GPB is known for making it up on the fly, so I needed lots of notes to keep me straight. I took a few liberties along the way to modify, but hey, that’s what we are told to do.
COP – Stretches, Good Mornings, Kendra’s, Michael Phelps, SSH, Imperial Walkers, Grass Grabbers, and Plank stretches.
Mosey to stop 1. The 7/4 theme was still alive, so American Hammers to a U-S-A cadence, LBC’s, SSH, Merkins, Plank Holds – up and elbow alternating.
Mosey across the parking lot to the curb for stop 2. Using the curb, Derkins and more Hammers.
AYG to the far end of the lot – Merkins, SSH’s
AYG back to the other end – Squats
Mosey around the lot and return. Hammers, Big Boys, and SSH’s. Plank for the 6.
Mosey around the lot and return. Hammers, LBC’s, Plank Hold up and elbow alternating, Shoulder Taps. Plank for the 6.
Mosey to the courtyard. Alternating for 3 rounds – Step ups (box jumps for some) / dips).
Mosey back to the flag area with High knees up the incline. Circled up for the last 1 1/2 minute with an Al Gore hold.
Proud of my journey over 6 years and all of the HIMs that have helped me through. GPB and Sadie were there Day 1 and were with me today! Here’s to the next 6!
