7.29.2025 – Backblast – Planetarium @ Boondocks – SLT Takeover

I believe it was BigBird who handed down the title of Run Q. I haven’t completely figured out what the Run Q is exactly, it is a constant work in progress. But from my perspective I just consider myself the lead cheerleader for runners. Somehow this earned me the opportunity to lead the group at the Boondocks during the SLT takeover.

9 AOs – 9 SLT (or former SLT) Q’s. – 1 epic good time.

All of F3 Louisville had the same list of exercises/movement. So the only variation was who was leading.

As I showed up to begin my setup I realized I forgot my coupon. Luckily Virginia Slims had his ruck and his ultra lightweight coupon. He let me use the coupon, and he used his ruck. He probably took the weight out first, but I digress. I have gotten too comfortable at The County, having a stash and not needing to haul it around. Not to mention my last trip to Boondocks was probably in 2024 (please hold while I research that, yes, confirmed October 2024 to be more specific.)

I placed the station markers out, with a slight modification. I moved Steve-O’s coupon work station to be #1 so we didn’t have to travel too far with the coupons. We moseyed from station to station to review exercises and make sure all PAX knew how to perform the work, and then we actually worked from station 9 back to station 1. Everyone really enjoyed starting with one legged burpees. It was a real crowd pleaser.

We worked up the station list, and then circled up for COT.

The workout was good, plenty of random exercises to keep us busy, not one muscle group too fatigued (except calves on those darn Nuclears, thanks Bird).

But the COT, even though it was a small portion of the morning it was what I remember most. A PAX shared that he “was angry last night.” Generally during COT there is a request for prayer, health, lifting up someone in need, etc. Those have an easy emotional response. But I didn’t know what to say/do in this moment. While multiple PAX offered “anything you need.” Sometimes a response isn’t needed, you just need to be heard.

I hear you.
