Q: Wedding Singer VQ

16 PAX arrived on the 16th

PAX: Wedding Singer, Moonlight, Geppeto, Glen Ross, Digiorno, Happy Fingers, Tiger, Waterboy, Backdraft, Mouth, Mad Cow, Quimby, Zartan, Busch, Old Bay, Zoolander

Conditions: ‘Feels like’ temp was 38. Completely rain soaked ground but no rain falling during the WO.

From the flag we moseyed around the building to the portico entrance area. Circled up to begin warm-up exercises, and today that meant doing some yoga. Yoga stretches began with downward dog, moving to yoga plank, moving to cobra and finishing with the childs pose yoga position. Each pose was held for 10 seconds, I think? Yes, more or less.

Thang 1:

1-mile run through the adjacent neighborhood. Arrive back to the Mutt on the opposite side of the building from where we started to circle up and count off. 1’s partner with a 2.

Partner 1 does AMRAP pull-ups (on the playground monkey bars) while Partner 2 finds some brick wall real estate and holds in a sitting position with back against the wall. Some PAX members grumble about the wet monkey bars but I’m convinced it was the pull-ups they’re not wanting. P2 holds the wall-sit position until relieved by P1. Partners switch up, rinse and repeat. After two rotations of this, partners come together at monkey bars for AMRAP partner pull-ups. One set of these per PAX member.

 

Thang 2:

Mosey to the outdoor coupon storage and grab 1 waterlogged and heavier than normal (even better!) coupon to share with your partner. Keeping same partner from Thang 1, P1 does LBC’s while P2 carries coupon across parking lot, around the cone and back to starting point to relieve P1 from his LBC work. P2 now does LBC’s and you get the idea on this switch up. Next coupon carry/ exercise combo involves doing AMRAP Dolly (also heard this being referred to as a Rosalita this morning) and the third and final coupon carry/ exercise combo involved AMRAP air presses.

 

Buschhhhh and his partner went for extra credit on Thang 2, finishing it early and hollering, “What’s next?” Before I could tell him what’s next, Zartan called out “it’s 6:13 Singer”. Time was up before my VQ workout plan was. With the time call (thanks Zartan) we returned the coupons so they can dry out and headed to the flag for name-o-rama. Happy Fingers pulled the 6 and explained his name to all.

I enjoyed leading this group of HIMs today and thanked them for letting me do so. We gave personal intentions and also thanked the Sky Q before heading out to make it a great day.
