QIC: Diablo
Pax: Red Roof; OJ; Mayberry; Gillispie
Weather: Scientifically speaking, it was wrinkled nuts weather this morning at The O. Start time temp a solid 1 degree, with reported wind chill of -4.
While the PAX small in number this morning, I knew the HIMs there with me could handle anything I threw at them. It thus allowed a very efficient morning in the gloom.
Easy jog over to the field hockey field, where we circled up for the following:
25 SSH
20 Plank Jacks
15 Deep Squats
20 Imperial Walkers
20 Cherry Pickers
Thang 1
It was too dark to mosey over to the half-pipe like originally planned. Audible was called. PAX thus lined up on field hockey sideline.
PAX performed one burpee, followed with a run to the other sideline. PAX then performed 2 burpees, followed by a run back to the other sideline. This pattern continued until the PAX did 7 burpees.
After this Thang, OJ asked permission to run to his car to get some different gloves. He took his time. We agreed that if he just decided to get in his car and leave it’d be worth it because we’d have a great story. But, being the stud he is, OJ returned, with what I believe were his grandmother’s oven mitts. But hey, he looked warmer.
Thang 2
Stayed at the field hockey field.
PAX then lined up in plank position for an Indian Bear Crawl the width of the hockey field. Remember, with only 5 PAX, those were some long planks and a good bit of bear crawling.
Thang 3
Ran the track long way to the tennis courts. Circled up. This one was fun and a little different. If you haven’t heard, the Army has changed its combat readiness test to replace push-ups with what it calls T Push-Ups. So we incorporated T Push-Ups this morning.
10 T Push-Ups
20 Reverse Lunges
10 Supermans
10 Merkins (Traditional)
Rinse & Repeat 3x
(Note: Here is how to perform the T Push Up —
Count 1: From the start position, elbows are fully extended and the PAX has reached the up position
Count 2: Elbows are fully flexed and the body is lowered as a single unit to the ground. The chest, hips and thighs will touch the ground. The head and face will not contact the ground.
Count 3: The arms are fully extended out to the sides into the T position.
Count 4: To complete the repetition the arms will return to the starting position with hands beneath the shoulders, palms on the ground.)
Thang 4
Still on the tennis courts, PAX did 30 LBCs, ran the length of the 5 tennis courts, only to do 10 Rosalitas at the other end. Rinse & Repeat 2x.
Thang 5
With time to spare, we hit the track again to run over to find some coupons. It’s a well known fact that I can’t resist incorporating heavy blocks into something stupid. PAX lined up again on the field hockey sideline. It was then Louisville Honeypot time. Meaning, each PAX bear crawled, with coupon in hand, the width of the field hockey field.
That was rough. PAX then did 20 coupon curls, before dropping the coupons for 20 big boy set ups. Coupons were returned to their home, and we then again hit the track to find ourselves back at the flag.
COT. NAME O RAMA, and a thank you to the SkyQ for the ability to get out and do stupid stuff in cold weather.
