I pulled into the Vet this morning about 5 till go time. Several of the pax were seen milling around. By the time I made it up to the seal, that group had multiplied x5. It was great to see a bunch of familiar faces from my home AO of the Mutt as well as the Vet pax I have gotten to know over the past year. Posh guys too. Wham! was even there to rep the O. 25 pax all total! But to my great disappointment, Kilo and Tony Malito apparently had a Valentine’s Day double date last night and had shared one too many Fuzzy Naval fishbowls. Hope to catch you boys next time. Even without those two Chatty Cathy’s out there, the mumblechatter at the Vet was strong. Always a lively group and the main reason I love to visit this AO. (On a quick side note. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, The Vet is by far the gassiest group in F3 Louisville. Meatball could straighten the hair on a poodle with what comes out of his ass, and I don’t’ even know how to describe the sounds I heard being blamed on PK. Seriously you boys need to see a doctor.)
If you read my pre-blast you’d see that I made reference to two MeTV staples. Some of you younger guys may have no idea what those even were. Thought I’d re-introduce one more icon from the golden age of television this morning. Just the facts Ma’am.
PAX: (25) Geppetto Q, Sump Pump, Snowman, Pepperoni, Aerobie(R), Drysdale, Iceman(R), Wham!, Jitterbug(R), Miyagi, Maxi, Dryrub, Dynomite!, Weedwacker, Fridge, Hot Wheels, Buschhhhh, Worm, Skid, Digiorno, Carlose’, PK, Sadie, Meatball, Backdraft
Weather: Temp in the high 40’s. No rain. Stars in the sky. Glorious for a February morning.
Gear: Nothing fancy. Left my monogrammed Mutt cardigan at home. The Vet frowns on that stuff anyway. Even left a few layers in the truck. See the above weather report.
5:30-Introduced myself to the pax and we moseyed around the loop. High knees, butt kickers, left/right karaoke along the way.
COP
Arm Circles
Abe Vigodas ICx10
Downward Dog/Cobra stretch
SSH ICx30
Freddie Mercury’s ICx25
Thang 1-Captain Thor
1:4 up to 10:40 Big boy situps/American Hammers. The Q called on the pax to help count a couple of the reps. Worm knows how to count to 4. The pax picked up the six and helped him get through the big numbers like 5-32.
Thang 2-Circle Burp
Circle up. Pax run in place until Q says drop. Do one burpee. Continue running in place. Next pax calls drop. Rinse and repeat. Pax of 25 means 25 burpees. That sucked. I hate burpees.
Thang 3-Jack Webbs with coupons
Moseyed from the monument over to the coupon storage. We did the traditional version of Jack Webb, only added the coupons to our air presses. 1:4 up to 10:40. I didn’t anticipate we’d make it all the way to 40 with coupons. Not sure if anyone did. I know all got better trying though.
Thang 4-Curls/Bench/One-arm row
Ran a lap around the parking lot. Back to coupons and did 25 curls. Another lap. 25 coupon bench. Lap. 15 one armed rows each arm. Lap. Went through this series twice.
Returned the coupons and asked the pax to gather in the parking lot so we could mosey as a group back to the flag. Told them I’d call “Billy Run” at some point along the way and we’d run AYG to the flag. A couple of these boys only have one gear apparently…FAST.
COT
Count off. Name-o-rama. Announcements. Intentions were said. Thanks again to the pax that came out today. You helped push me as much or more than I helped you. Finally shoutout for Aerobie stepping in to Q at the Mutt tomorrow. Let’s show him some love.
Geppetto out!
