Rolled into the Vet this morning about 5:15 with a truck full of goodies. Rain couldn’t make up it’s mind if it wanted to pour or just spit little annoying drizzle. To be safe, I decided to set up shop under one of the larger pavilions on hand at the park. To be clear I didn’t care about the comfort of the pax, but I had a lot of heavy iron that I wanted to keep from rusting up. Right about the time I had all my tools of torture spread around the picnic area the pax rolled in. 10 strong. Very quick disclaimer and even quicker explanation of the stations and we were ready to put in some work.
Q: Geppetto
PAX: Rih Rih, Cutlass, Atlas, Bob Ross, Plumb Bob, Snowman, Meatball, Greenwich, Short Bus
We partnered up and ran through the following six stations.
- Sled drag around the monument loop (this station would then push the rest of the pax at the end of a lap)
- P-1 Kettle bell swings, P-2 American Hammers w/kettle bell (would swap after P-1 finished his reps)
- P-1 Battle ropes, P-2 jump rope (swap when P-1 done)
- Jack Webbs w/ 20lb dumbell press
- P-1 Slosh pipe canoe rows, P-2 resistance band curls or flys (swap when P-1 done)
- P-1 35# pvc pipe overhead press, P-2 kettle bell shrugs (swap when P-1 done)
Ran through this circuit twice. Swapped out station 2 for a medicine ball toss on the second time through. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the tire sleds. And by enjoy I mean hate. The slosh pipe continues to make friends as well. All in all I think the pax got better today.
We circled up at the seal. Name-o-rama. I thanked the pax again for coming out, keeping me motivated and inspired. Prayers for Meatball’s Mom, for Rih Rih’s Grandpa, and for those intentions left unspoken.
Geppetto out!
