When Meter Maid asked for some help to pick up his Q as he recovers from a re-injury of his calf muscle from the August ruck event, I scooped it up in a hurry. I’ve found that I always push myself harder when I Q – you can call it Q juice or call it just not wanting to be the six during your own set. Whatever it is, it works.

Disclaimer was made; confirmed no FNGs; and we were off with a mosey to the front lot for some COP – turned out to be a quicker than normal mosey (see earlier comment on Q juice).
COP:
- SSH – 20x – silent cadence (Retainer introduced this to me of the silent cadence where everyone had to halt at the same time – good times. We had a few extra half flaps, but good enough for government work.)
- Downward Dog and Calf Stretches (We did various stretches and called upon random PAX for 10 counts – great way to incorporate FNGs and make sure everyone feels comfortable to step up and Q.)
- Toy Soldiers – 20x – IC
- SSH – 20x – IC
- Grass Grabbers – 20x – IC
- SSH – 20x – IC
- Weighted Merkins – 100x – this was not ideal for this, but I really wanted to do them – here PAX 1 put the coupon on the back of PAX 2 and PAX 1 went until failure – then PAX 1 removed the weight and did the mosey while PAX 2 did regular Merkins until failure.
- Overhead Presses – 150x.
- Skull Crushers – 200x (although we modified to 100 because these sucked really bad).
- Bench Press – 250x
- Curls – 300x (most only got to 200x due to time).
