I thought it would be appropriate to do our workout this morning in silence in remembrance of those that gave their lives on 9-11-01, specifically, the 343 fireman. I barely made it through what I thought was going to be a simple explanation of the workout and why we planned to “suffer in silence”. The PAX waited patiently and helped me through that, and for that, I am grateful.

Short run around the parking lot to shake it out.
Repeat.
Return coupons and circle up for announcements. Another tough section, although, I knew this one was going to be. Around this time 343 fireman were getting ready for this shift, some saying goodbye to their families, some maybe not, unbeknownst to them, for the last time. There were thousands more ready to make the same sacrifice, but it was not their time. Called to light the additional losses of that fateful day; Police, EMS, and innocent people. Not to mention, how many military service personnel in the time since. The PAX once again helped me with patience and encouragement and I finally made it through.
LePew added his story of his brother and his good friend, Nick Brandemarte, who had just been hanging out the Saturday before. Ryan worked in the World Financial Center, and ran into first responders that were running in on the day of the attack. Nick, was on one of the floors that was hit by the plane on the south tower. Please remember his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Let us never forget those affected by the events of that day and still continue to be affected.
