Weather: 72 degrees, and humidity at 86%. Dewpoint checking in at 67 degrees. More on that later.
This is at least the second Q-less Friday BO at the Mutt, which is looking like it will be the plan from here on out. We agreed on the plan for the day, did a light stretch and set to it.
The one and only thang was simple. Do the exercise. Run. Repeat. Today was 15 merkins, followed by 30 LBCs, followed by a 1/4 mile run around the school. Repeat a total of 12 times (that’s 3 miles, 180 merkins and 360 LBCs). We all pushed through and finished the 12 right on time.
During the running, Zoo pondered, why, if there is such low humidity, does it feel so muggy. I suggested perhaps the dewpoint was to blame, however not being a meteorologist offered no further detail. First of all, it was 86% humidity, so the mystery was solved. However, dewpoint is generally a better overall measure of moisture in the air, as compared to relative humidity as it is an absolute measure of how much water is in the air. So in other words, while I didn’t know why I was right…
