Two years ago, Phoenix Big Bird and I completed our first F3 workout—a Little Jerry Q at Posh with extensive trail running, and a series of exercises explained to us in seemingly some derivation of Pig Latin. It was before the County even existed. It has been a blast meeting new people, and getting better in the gloom over the past two year, and I had a great time co-hosting this anniversary workout with Bird.

Before we even get to Thang 1, Bird pulled out a wild card, and went with Sallie alternative and tortured everyone by demanding a Merkin each time Clapton said the word, “glad” in “I’m so Glad” by Cream. In the fleeting moments when Clapton wasn’t using that word, we held plank, so no knees touching down for the duration of the song. Fact checkers clocked this as 80 Merkins. And now we’re warmed up.
Thang 1: 11’s–10 Burpees, run the length of upper parking lot, then do 1 jump lunge (each leg once). Run back, do 9 Burpees, and so forth. Pax crushed this, and I realized that I would have to use my backup workout material to fill an hour of exercise for these beasts.
Native American run around campus as the transition to Thang 2. This was a modified Dora. Instead of combining reps, the objective was to focus on form. Partner 1 ran while Partner 2 did exercises, and they switched when Partner 1 made it back. Exercises were Superman, Dips x3 for each partner, and Derkins x3 for each partner.
Kept on sweating through Jack Webb, then Mary to exhaustion.
