Well today was your day and if you weren’t there, we put you down for a big fat 100. That should probably help most of your handicaps.
When I committed to Glen Ross last week that I’d lead the next Friday’s Black Ops at Mary T, I never even thought about it being the day after Halloween. Gulp. Ok I’m gonna get literally no one there.
Looking and studying the forecast (insert OJ weather comment) it was calling for low to mid 30’s. Seriously, we had a neighborhood picnic last Sunday and I had on a t shirt and flip flops. Sheesh.
I knew I needed something different. A real eye catcher, something with a hook (only die hards will get that reference). What could I do to bring the PAX out on the day after Halloween?
Golfing in the DARK!!
For those that Hard Committed I asked them to bring their putters. Fall Guy and PED were like… OJ you need us to bring an actual golf putter? Umm yes please!
Arriving a little early, I brought my two Ruck plates, Mr. 30 and Mrs. 20.
As soon as the PAX arrived, I gladly handed out 8 Pro V’s for each of them. No Top Flights in my bag.

No sighting of Buschhh at this tourney…
So the goal today was to have some fun.
We all had headlamps and I had a small lantern.
Each PAX would putt from roughly 20 feet out or so.
If anyone got a hole in one, they got to dish out 25 exercises of their choice. (This never happened)
If you got a 2 – 5 Burpees
If you got a 3 – 10 Burpees
If you got a 4 – 15 Burpees
I changed up the exercises a little during the round…
The two highest scores on each hole had to carry the 20 and 30lb ruck plates to the next hole. Remember Crescent Hill is very hilly. 🤔
We were nearly spotted by the groundskeeper at hole 3 so we went dark with all the headlamps and bolted for holes 8 & 7.
Finished up playing 7 or so holes.
With 4 minutes to spare, we cranked out a round of Mary.
20 Gas Pumps for Glen Ross because he’s better at golf right handed in the dark.

Last we bear crawled/crawl bear’d the hill next to the reservoir x 2.
Today was the epitome of why I love this group. The support, the banter, the fitness, the fellowship, the faith, and running away from a greenskeeper like he was the law.
We totaled about 2 miles in distance.
Intentions were given and I closed us out in prayer.
