11.23.2019 PreBlast – LePew @ The Nest (County)

This Saturday I will pay homage to the Wampanoag tribe that lived in Southeastern Mass for 12,000 years before the Pilgrims arrived in 1620. It was the Wampanoag tribe and their leader, Massasoit that celebrated the first Thanksgiving in 1621 in Plymouth. The tribe had an extensive network of running trails throughout the region and had designated certain tribesmen as “Messenger Runners.” These men would run across great distances to deliver news among their villages. They were, essentially, America’s first ultra-marathon runners.

Come on out to The County Saturday morning; we’re going to become a PAX of messenger runners with a full hour of an Indig Run where no man will be left behind.
