Inspiration:
For those who don’t know, I grew up in Massachusetts and would often visit Plymouth Plantation as a child. It’s an amazing place and encourage you to go if you get the opportunity.
Among the exhibits is a beautiful homage dedicated to the indigenous tribes that lived in the region before the Puritans arrived. They have dozens of people work there that are ancestors from the native tribes and educate each visitor about their culture and history. It’s hard to truly appreciate that some of these tribes had lived there for 12,000 years before the Europeans arrived.
During my last visit, one of the tribesman told us about Messenger Runners that each village had. These men were designated to deliver news from village-to-village and would run across extraordinary distances to do so. My Q today was inspired by these Messenger Runners.

COT:
Today our PAX was able to stay together for a four mile run and leave no one behind. We embodied the spirit of the Messenger Runners; we deliver messages of strength, inspiration, community, loyalty, humility, opportunity, compassion, and encouragement.
During our run today a car pulled up next to us and an elderly couple got out to attend Mass. Before entering the chapel, the gentleman stood and watched us for a few minutes during one of our PT Sessions. We’ll never know the impact we had on him, but it was clear that he was in awe of our PAX. I wonder what message he took from us.
By running today, the message I was hoping to deliver was potential. Abacus inspired me to do something I thought I’d never be able to do and am so grateful for him. He helped me run the 25K at Red River gorge. He crushed the 50K and did so with a level of determination and humility that is so rare among us all. After that race, I was touched to see that Fungi ran ten miles on-his-own, Kimball ran 2 miles on-his-own, Dauber ran 9 miles on-his-own, and Gisele ran the Louisville 10k on-his-own. These HIMs, and so many others, have had physical accomplishments that before F3 would not have believed they could do. F3 proves that if we realize the potential we see in each other, we’ll all accomplish more than we ever would have dreamed possible.
Be Messenger Runners every day. Run toward the opportunity to help others realize their God-given potential. The Wampanoag tribe in Mass taught the Puritans how to live off the land and it’s likely we all wouldn’t be here if not for their generous spirit. The Wampanoags saw the potential that the Pilgrims had, and helped them realize it. Sprint to the front of the line so that the last man can have a turn to pull everyone forward. We can go anywhere, and accomplish anything when we stay together as a PAX and never leave a man behind.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
