Nothing like getting out of the car in 40 degree weather and it starting to sideways rain on you. And I mean a torrential downpour. But like they (Abacus I think) say you only get wet once. Because I knew it would be miserable conditions, I wanted to Q something that kept the PAX in constant motion and heart rate up. Welcome to the lighted Indian run! Ha.
PAX (19 HIMs) – Captain Crunchberry, Dynomite, Nino, Ripple, Little Jerry (R), Jewel, Methane, Dry Rub, Jitterbug (R), Bob Ross, FNG – Potter, Retainer, Buzzsaw, Bubblewrap, Stickup, Lady Bird (R), Mr Kotter, Deep Dish, Backflop – Q
COP – 40 SSH IC, 10 GG IC, 10 Toy soldiers IC, downward dog stretches, 20 Merkins IC, quad stretches
The THANG –
Split the PAX up into 2 groups. Group #1 had 10 HIMs and group #2 had 9 HIMs. Each group had a “Champion of the light;” meaning one HIM that would carry the light during the WO.
We performed an Indian/Native American run with mixed in PT. So how it works – group #1 Indian runs one way around the egg lawn and group #2 Indian runs the opposite way around the egg lawn. Once the “Champion of the light” (The HIM holding the light) cycles from the front to the back then back to the front, all PAX stop and perform the PT. We started out with 10 reps of each exercise. Then increased to 15 reps of each on the 3rd lap and 20 reps of each on the final lap around.
So with that being said, we rotated (wash, rinse, repeated) the following exercises:
Merkins
Jump Lunges – 4 count
Big Boys
BOYO’s
We concluded with some Mary –
25 pickle pounders, and maybe one other exercise before time was called.
COR, NOR
COT – thanked all the HIMs for coming out to support. The central message/theme was to be a champion of light in your households and communities. Share the light, be the support for someone who needs it, lend a hand, do unto others as you would have them do to you. Simple, but effective message…at least I think. Ended with an Our Father.
Apologies for the tardiness if this backblast. But hey, it’s always fun to get out and lead. I love it.
