Writing 2020 is gonna feel weird for a while! I read, on the internet, don’t shorthand 2020 b/c fraudsters may use your laziness against you. I was too lazy to keep reading so, I’ll right 2020 because it’s awesome! Enough pointless typing…
Weather conditions: Upper 30’s and windy, but DRY
Attire: Blue Ranger Panty’s, white dry fit under armor, Louisville marathon tee on top (for modesty…really as another layer), smart wool socks, Asics GT2000 Series 7’s that need to be replaced, under armor beany cap to keep my bald head toasty.
PAX: Little Jerry (R), Huggies, Dauber, Abacus
Route: Met at Gheens at 0600, quick greeting and outline of the route (next time will remind everyone of the disclaimer and to be safe!), we set off. LJ set the pace, as normal. On the way out YHC felt like crap. I started the day with an 0415 wake-up call from a 2.0.
Rather than go back to sleep, YHC decided to get 60 quality minutes in on the tread with Matt Wilpers of Peloton. Wilpers puts on awesome workouts. I highly recommend trying one out some time on your tread. Peloton app is amazing. Enough commercial.
Back to our run, we headed north towards Shelbyville Rd and the hills. We hit the front side of the hill hard (LJ blazed it) and then the backside. Pulled a 180 at the pavillion and headed back to the parking lot where we pulled another 180 back up the front and backside of the hill. Good times!
Huggies headed back from here and got in nearly 6 miles.
LJ, Dauber, and YHC headed back a few minutes later. Part II of the workout was discussed on the way back…Speedwork in a ladder format as laps around the egg lawn.

Between each set was equal rest.
LJ having all his miles in bailed. Smart move! Over training is real and leads to real injuries. Listen to your body!
Dauber and YHC continued on for 3, 5, 10, 5. After the final 5 Dauber completed nearly 11 miles of running, which exceeds his recent long run best of 10 miles by 10%, so he bailed to get home and pick up Brick for their 0900 B-Ball game. Dauber crushed it! Ran on heart, grit and determination. I learned F3 brings out so much good in men!
YHC ran past the men at the Fog 0700 workout. I heard Iceman yell out some cat calls, but I was on a mission to get in the last 1.8 miles to meet up with the PAX at COT. I was successful on all accounts.
Greatful for these men who turned out today for a tough run in crappy conditions!
