I’ve been coming to the County since May, have Q’d six or seven times total but this was the first time I’ve Q’d a Tuesday or Thursday. These days always draw big numbers so wanted to come up with something good and slightly different.
I got there a bit early to “set up” which consisted of putting out a speaker and dry erase board. About 5:20 the parking lot was empty. 5:25 some cars trickled in but I guess it was too cold because no one got out of there cars. Around 5:28 all 20 PAX were out (even Mama) and ready to go.

Then we grabbed coupons and went to grab one parking spot per person to celebrate my sweet 16. May want to call it 16 minutes of suck but whatever here’s what it is—16 minutes with a target of 16 reps per minute. We alternated between broad jumps and thrusters on the minute. If you hit your 16 before the minute was up you got to rest. I think most of these HIMs made it through all 128 reps of each but I did see some modifications and breaks which is great. By the end we went from broad jumps to jumps to maybe bunny hops.
We had some time left so we partnered up for Thang 2. Partner 1 sprinted down to the island and moseyed back while partner 2 did the below exercises (1 exercise while partner ran) then we switched. Not trying to hit a number but just cycling through when we switched. Our group made it through one round and started round 2 before we headed to the flag for some Mary. Shout out to Viking for pushing me on the last sprint.

We had a few minutes left for Mary. I didn’t realize how much the broad jumps worked your core until we started LBCs while waiting for the 6–woof. Then we did the below–

As always it’s a humbling experience to lead this great group of HIMs. I hope everyone got better today and they help others get better.
