Coupons were lined up in a 2×10 rectangular matrix with the long side parallel to the parking lot. Depending on the nature of the exercises, we went over, under, or around them. For some exercises, we went the whole perimeter. For others, we would work on a coupon pair. For a few exercises (which happened to coincide with YHC getting tired, imagine that) we would stay stationary and work on a single coupon. We did each exercise for 2 minutes.
“M” Merkins

Slalom Run
Wonderbra
Bulgarian split squats
American Hammer
Side to Side hops (over coupon)
Sumo Squat
Coupon Pullover (lying down)

Bear Crawl laps*
*On bear crawl laps, you always face the same direction. This means that you’ll bear crawl, then side plank shuffle one direction, crawl bear, then side plank shuffle the other direction. It’s super fun!
We returned the coupons and did a sprint for home to the flag.

Announcements- Poker Ruck is the Feb ruck event. If you play your cards right, you’ll have a good time (see what I did there?).
Message-
Today’s theme was follow the leader. Although pretty much every workout is technically a ‘follow the leader’, YHC tried to lead the way by doing a demonstration, then starting the laps with each new exercise. The PAX followed along just as expected. But what happens when you get called to do something new? Like… completely new? Unprecedented new? So “outside the norm that you don’t think it’s possible” new?
How about if you were a young (teenage) village girl way back in the day. Suppose some angel came out of the blue and told you that you were going to have a son (you were a virgin), not by your soon-to-be-but-not-yet husband, but by the Holy Spirit. Facing all the social stigma and danger of those circumstances, here’s what happened. Luke 1:38 says, “And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant (follower) of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
With a whole lot at stake, and not a lot of experience to her credit, middle school Mary becomes one of the ultimate “follow the leader-ers” ever. She didn’t hesitate, she accepted the call. It was a lifetime commitment, no doubt.
We all follow. We follow sports teams, mentors, advice, best practices, a boss, whatever. They are shaping you, whether you know it or not. Whether you like it or not.
Take some time to think today about what and who you follow. Is it wise? Is it worth your time? When they call you to something important, are you going to follow?
Are you a leader worth following?
Intentions-
Father Jack at St. Als (healing & wisdom), the spouses and soon-to-be-born babies of McAfee, Wildflower, and Backflop (healthy pregnancies, deliveries, recoveries), and Ms. Ryleigh’s family, friends, and loved ones. We requested that God hold every one of them, their families, and their caregivers especially close.
NakedMan Moleskin-
Wildflower, be honest (lying is bad), did you LET me win that last sprint to the flag? Tell me the truth, I can take it.
Until next meal,
Crock Pot
