Pax (19) – Duckling, Pork Chop, Deflator, Pelican, Bulletin (R ), Cratchit, Airplane, Wham, Glen Ross, Tureen, Deuce, Tron, PED, Buschhhh, Geppetto, Back Draft, Digiorno, Noxeema Jackson, Fergie (Q)
Weather – High 30s, damp. The rain held off (mostly) until the end.
Knowing the crowd, getting wet was not really an option. Chance of rain was about 70%, so i came in with Plan A and Plan B. Plan B involved huddling under the Forcht Bank VIP Pavilion for the work-out. I was surprised and overwhelmed with 18 other PAX showing (including a clown car from the County). The VIP area was out (unless we moved to a Pork Chop weinke with a lot of touching). Luckily, the rain was coming, but providing a small window of mostly dry conditions.
Today was pretty simple. We did a light COP, which was mostly getting loose and stretching out. From there, a mosey to the bottom of Mary Sue.
We started what we meant to be a ladder;
10 burpees, the run to the top of Mary Sue (about 80 yards and a generous incline) and back down. Once down, 10 burpees and 20 T Merkins. Back up and down Mary Sue. The full progression was:
10 burpees – 20 T merkins – 30 Imperial Squat Walkers – 40 Monkey Humpers – 50 SSH
I saw meant to be a ladder, as I think we all made it up the ladder, but not sure if anyone made it back down. In all, it was 5 trips up and down Mary Sue, 50 burpees, 80 T Merkins, 90 Imperial Squat Walkers, 80 Monkey Humpers and 50 SSH. We added 10 more burpees for good measure before we headed back up Mary Sue with about 10 minutes to spare.
Again, knowing the audience and knowing that no one really wanted to roll around on the now wet pavement, we did a little light stretching for our legs. To run out the clock, we did 20 more burpees, 5 LL Cool Js, then Arm Circles (courtesy of Buschhh) and Toy Soldiers.
We closed with COR and NOR, then COT. Some PAX are going through some difficult times across the region, and some family and friends the same. Look out for one another, especially those going through tough times.
