Backblast Big Mo @ the Vet 2/10/2020

Rolled into the Vet this morning about 5:15 with a truck full of goodies.  Mother Nature couldn’t make up her mind if she wanted to pour rain or just spit little bit of annoying drizzle.  I started to set up under one of the pavilions to be safe but then the rain stopped and we had a glorious morning to sling some heavy stuff out in the open area of the park.  Apparently the Vet OGs and the few Merry Mutts I usually travel with paid too much attention to the forecast and stayed in the comfort of the fartsack.  Five other HIMs rolled in at go time however and were ready to put in some work.

Q: Geppetto

PAX: Plumb Bob, Whitney, Motor Boat, Fertile Myrtle, Wiki

Quick warm-up lap, 25 SSHs, grass grabbers, and Abe Vigodas then ran through the following seven stations.

  1. Sled drag around the monument loop (this station would then push the rest of the pax at the end of a lap)
  2. Battle rope
  3. Kettle bell swings
  4. Resistance band rows
  5. Forearm reel (not sure what to call this, but it was tough)
  6. Overhead press/curls with either 20# or 30# dumbells
  7. Kettle bell step ups

Ran through this circuit twice.  About half way through we circled up and did a Merkin time bomb, 10 down to 1.  To finish up we did a series of big boys with a medicine ball toss incorporated in.  All the while we listened to the sweet sounds of 80’s hair band ballads.

We circled up at the seal. Name-o-rama.  I thanked the pax again for coming out, keeping me motivated and inspired.  This Mutt always enjoys his trips out to the Vet!  Prayers for two men we knew that have passed away way too soon, thankful for the blessing we all have and the health to get out and do what we do.

Geppetto out!
