Backblast – The Chopper – 6/10/20

Pax present included: Meatball, Bunghole, Worm, Kilo, Merlin, Slothie (FNG), Tony Molito, PF, Jinxy, Cousin Eddie Q.

We had nearly perfect weather, mid 60’s nice and cool, perfect morning for some HIMs to get after it.

We played “It Pays to be a Winner” a motto of the Navy SEALs where those that win the event get to rest longer while the losers get to enjoy some extra work. You don’t wanna do the extra work, just WIN! Plain and simple. We got to see who wanted to win, who had the desire to push through the pain to be a winner.

The biggest HIM on this day was Merlin (who is probably 10 years old and 80 lbs soaking wet). I told him that he didn’t have to do the full amount of push ups during our set, which was 25. He looked at me and never wavered, “I can do it, I can do 25,” he said. That was enough motivation for me. If he could do it so could I.

The Magic Man, Merlin and his brother Slothie showed some true grit and determination out there. Sometimes the smallest guy is the one with the biggest heart.

Stay Hard.

Cousin Eddie.
