6.8.23 Back blast Agony @ The County

Inspiration, as I grow older I have tried to find more of it. It comes in so many way but sometimes we are moving too quickly to notice. I guess it’s my “stop and smell the roses”…. But not smelling during Mary as that usually ends up with a blow of the dinner a pax ate the night before. My inspiration on 6/8/23 comes in many ways. My sister and sister in law share this day as their birthday, it was one year ago my godmother got a horrific diagnosis but here she is a year later rocking it out with a bald head, and one of our own brothers who has made a commitment, more on that in a bit. Thanks to PCI for switching as I originally had 6/1 but I had a late night plane ride on 5/31 so he switched. At 4:30 am I was awake, when I Q I always wake up early before the sound of my alarm. I did my morning business and got to the County about 5:15. I also had the flag for our Agony site Q Valdez who was away spending time with his family (who sent a video of a brown bear coming towards him later in the day, I am pretty sure he convinced the bear to let hit pet it). I got everything put out; flag, speaker, white board. Pew Pew was the first to show as I was doing some situps for some extra credit @viking #fray. It was good to see Pew Pew as it had been a while. Soon PCI, Double Pump, Jolly Rancher, and Martha Stewart showed and it was 5:30. We started with a lap around the campus. Jolly was getting asked a lot of questions during the mosey which made for some early fun. As we came back around to the flag for some COP Tebow had arrived wearing his #MTCGA cut off. We did some SSH, Grass Grabbers and Downward dog to get warmed up. It was time for the main thang which was a celebration of my 500th post. I know I have well over 500 with some of the black ops that goes unposted but heck 500 feels pretty good. I asked everyone to partner up and with the perfect number of 7 for partner work I went through the board. The tag teams would complete 100 Merkins, 100 Squats, 100 mountain climbers (4ct), 100 LBCs, 100 flutter kicks (4ct). Partner 1 would run a parking lot lap while partner 2 started in on the work, when #1 came back with the tag they would switch. I joined the group of Double pump and Martha Stewart. I am pretty sure I had convinced Martha to bring his kids to St. Aloysius for school by the time we got to our 500. After making sure all teams were complete I let the Pax know I was not settling for 500 posts so we changed up partners and got back after it for the next 500 posts. For this round I was with Jolly Rancher which I got to say Jolly Gisele makes one intimidating team. As all the teams hit 500 it was 6:12 so in honor of Pelican we headed back toward the flag for some stretching. The clock hit 6:15 and time was called. At this point I ran over to my jeep to grab a mini shovel that I picked up yesterday and slapped an F3 sticker on. Name-o-rama and some announcements were done. Despite Meter Maid not sending us the official calendar I think we pretty much got everything covered. Back to the mini shovel. In my early days of F3 at a Viking and Cowboy Q I was given a mini shovel as recognition for the work I was putting in. That shovel went on to be passed to others for inspirational moments that had given the previous shovel holder. It has been a while since I saw that shovel and hope that it was passed along at another AO. Today I brought a mini shovel back to the County for a man that has been dedicated to getting in better shape, not just for himself but a promise to his grandson. This was his 28th post and I know he has made an awesome impression on all of us at the County. For me it has been inspirational as I have gotten to know him, his story and his commitment. After giving him the shovel with some background and ask that he passes it on to the person he sees as being inspirational we brought it in for a prayer. We then gave each other props for starting the morning together betting better and closed up the County for the day. On my drive home I started to count the inspirational moments I had already had in this morning; the 6 other hims in the gloom, the beautiful morning, the gentleman who was out walking his dog and the other that was making sure the chapel was ready to start the day. Before I knew it I was pulling into the driveway. There are inspirational moments always around us, and if you move too fast you may just miss the moment. Gisele out
