Lots to unpack from this morning at The Nest. As I self-reflect back, I’ll admit things did not go as smoothly as I thought they would with the 4-man teams doing a 3-man weave. It seemed like a good, unique idea but there are some kinks to work out before we try it again. Weed Eater trying to partner carry Huey is a dynamic I didn’t fully comprehend either. Burpees and sprints would seem to be straight forward, but even that part of workout was dicey as counting by threes was a lot to ask of the PAX. The sprint part was cool until I was humbled by each of my 2.0s (I feel like with a little more stretching next time I can hang better). The music was a cluster-F even for me. Shockingly, I couldn’t sync my phone to the speaker. Joe Dirt stepped up and synced his phone but even that didn’t work until about 40 minutes into the workout. On the bright side, we didn’t have any ads to interrupt the one song played. Kickball was fun until the very first play of the game when Bob Ross robbed a 2.0 of a hit and proceeded to stare him down. After some tears and I am sure future counseling sessions I think he’ll be okay. I’m not sure which team won (I am sure but I’m not saying it), but it was fun and no one pulled a muscle.
However, the jersey game was strong. We had one suspended player, one dude no one has heard of, one championship jersey of a player that never won a title, one of the Balls and Ice Trey.
So the above kinda covers things. We had 26 PAX, a bunch of 2.0s (including two FNGs), did the work above and closed with COT. Awesome morning. My favorite of the year.
