Back Blast: The Big Kapowski 7/27/23

The air was thick on Thursday at Bayside, but that didn’t stop the crew from getting after it. The temps must have scared some folks away (I refuse to believe it had anythign to do with me being on Q). But, the 5 PAX who showed up did not disappoint:

Charolais (R)

Borland (R)

Eye Booger

Mr. Mom

Banana Bread

The Thang:

I wanted to try something a little different with this workout, so I did a little recon on Monday to find some good elevation changes (aka hills). We started the workout with a long mosey and then stopped for COT:

  • SSH (IC) x20
  • Grass Grabbers (IC) x15
  • Plank stretching
  • Trunk twists

We continued to mosey until we came to hill 1:

  • 5 merkins then sprint to top of hill 1, mosey back
  • 4 merkins then sprint to top of hill 1, mosey back
  • 5 merkins then sprint to top of hill 1

After a quick 10 count to catch our breath, we continued our mosey to hill 2:

  • Bearcrawl to top of hill 2, 12 big boys, mosey back down
  • Bearcrawl to top of hill 2, 10 big boys, mosey back down

rinse/repeat until you finish 2 big boys. After this, we completed the same sequence except we exchanged big boys for merkins. Another modification was that we did the merkins at the base of hill 2 on the sidewalk because the grass was kinda tall for merkins.

This pretty much wiped yours truly out, but since I was Q I couldn’t show any weakness. After a few 10 counts we continued our mosey around the Bayside complex RIMC style (Random Intervals of My Choosing). I would stop ocassionally and the PAX would complete 10 air squats. We continued this until we got to hill 3:

  • 10 air squats, AYG to the top of hill 3

Continued to mosey back to the flag, but on the way there we found hill 4:

  • 10 air squats, sprint to the top of hill 4, mosey back
  • 10 air squats, sprint to the top of hill 4, mosey back
  • 10 air squats, sprint to the top of hill 4

Hill 4 ended at the flag so we circled up and ended with:

  • Count-o-Rama
  • Name-o-Rama
  • Announcements
  • Intentions
