17 HIM committed to being better, rucking, and helping the community. The pax are:
HBK, Mannequin, Ferb, Meter Maid, Patches, Sub Prime, Captain Underpants, Crash, PCI, Blacktop (Assfalt), Miyagi, Pizza, Brisket, Billy Goat, Biscuit, Edward Scissorhands, Jazz Hands.
Premise of the ruck: 3 startexes, 3 teams. On the map we formed a triangle around the endex, which was Wicks Pizza in the highlands. The goal was to ruck from your startex clockwise twice – so each team rucked to each others startexes and takes a picture to confirm. How to win? Your team must pick up the most trash along your path. Your team must commit at least (1) RAK (random act of kindess) along your path – The most compelling RAK helps you win.

Before I get into details – the initial cause for the ruck was to support Hope Scarves – a charity to support breast cancer. If you were unable to make the ruck but want to support my cause please make a donation here: https://secure.givelively.org/teams/hope-scarves-inc/outliving-cancer-april-13-27-2024/f3-for-hope-2024.
My team met at Wicks to carpool to our startex Collegiate. We paid 4-5 peoples meters t Wicks before the 6pm free parking hit. We then carpooled and gathered at collegiate and began our trip to Atrium Brewing on Logan. We must’ve picked up 100 plastic fireball bottles… unreal. Hands were frozen, but the ruck went on. Blacktop gave me an extra pair of gloves from his bag – RAK and game changer for me. About 100 yards from Atrium we were stopped by a train and blacktop found a questionable shoe… trash? We then hit Atrium where we get many heads turned clearly questioning our authority if their establishment. Scissorhards ordered a round of Atrium’s Batch 300 DNEIPA, which was delightful. Fellowship was flowing, this was a crucial bonding stop and chance to warm up as the heat was up high in Atrium. After about 15 minutes we packed up our gear and headed to Ten20 Brewery. Along the way we must have picked up another 100 bottles of Fireball… eye opening. We snapped our picture and headed to the endex, Wicks Pizza. Upon arrival Team 3 had a huge table in the bar area where we joined and began discussing the accomplishments and details in their ruck. Team 3 stopped and provided nourishment, water, and snacks to tent city to fuel the homeless. HIM indeed. A few minutes later I get a text from Meter Maid explaining Team 1 was going to be late because they were unloading an entire U-Haul… WHOA! Upon arriving at Wicks Team 1 explained that Mannequin had engaged a small family unloading furniture into their new home and offered assistance. He explained the mission of the evening, explained the mission of F3, and delivered one of the most outstanding RAK’s one team could. Phenomenal! We then engaged in food, libations, fellowship, and just taking in the night as a whole. We also collected approximately 9 bags of trash. Lastly, we named FNG – SubPrime’s 2.0 – Captain Underpants!
So, the real question is, who won? Well… as if it wasn’t obvious – Team 1 took the cake with their RAK of the evening. What did the winner get?… A GoRuck gift card! During dinner Mannquin mentioned that he had borrowed Tudors ruck as he did not have a ruck of his own. After discussing with a few teams – We all thought it best that Team 1 being the winner Mannequin was the most deserving of the prize and my final RAK was providing Mannequin with the GC inching him closer to making a ruck purchase himself.
You guys – the amount of good deeds that will go unnoticed last night is something that truly sparks the real F3 initiative. We were heros of the night. We were men. We were HIM. I don’t want to toot my horn, but the impact of this ruck is going to be hard to top… I was smacked in the feelz about a dozen times last night. So proud of what was accomplished. Keep doing good. Keep rucking. Keep making an impact.
