Wonderful weather this morning for a very active workout. Arrived on the hallowed grounds of Bayside at 4:45pm for a Pre-Run opportunity. Unfortunately this was only attended by YHC. This included multiple laps around the Bayside Campus. At 5:30 am it was time to start The Big Kapowski. There were 9 Pax and one guitar to tune. The Premise for the workout was to use the shape of a guitar that is made by the lane leading up to the school, the courtyard, and flag pole island.
Warm-up: Moseyed the outline of the guitar stopping at the Bridge and then did five reps of the six exercises listed to represent EADGBE, followed up with SSH IC and 3 good mornings
The Thing: Starting at Bridge of Guitar tune the six string guitar by completing 20 reps of the first exercise, Mario to the tuners at the top of the neck and repeat exercise then mosey back to the bridge. Move to next Key (Letter/Exercise) and do the same. If finished before time repeat tuning with only 10 reps.
Keys: E for Elevators IC; A for Ankle Bitter IC; D for Decline Merkins: G for Groiners; B for Bridges; E for E2K (Elbow to knee, Oblique crunch while in glute stretch)
The Pax: Hightower (Pushed the pace the whole workout, I finally caught him at the end.), Jesco was right with me in his sweats (Dude must be so hot inside those!), Little foot getting incrementally better every post, Cattle Chips was said he stopped his Mario form to prevent a heartattack (well advised if that is the truth), Charolais (The ol’ bull kept his hoofs moving at an impressive pace), Birdie appeared to have gotten a good dose of cardio in by the end of things (I’m impressed at the balance he keeps in lifting and F3), Texas Twinkie has nice running form and a solid pace to match (I was having to churn to pass him), Borland was pushing hard as usual and showed he practices what he preaches. Unfortunately both Tight lips and Uncle Louis made it to the naugthy list by HCing and not showing up. We have threated penalty burpees for more people than HCs but not sure how to handle HCs but missing people.
