The Thang

The Patriot Field of Dreams (aka City Place parking lot) was arranged in a perfect baseball diamond. Bases 90’ apart. We divided up into two teams of 4. I would have preferred enough PAX for 4 teams, but 2 man teams seemed too small. One thing with F3 I’ve learned is you have to be ready to improvise on the fly.

Game play:

Home team has the push. Buy-in on the pitcher’s mound of 10 monkey humpers. (Because pitchers have big egos and like to be the center of attention) Then at home plate do 15 burpees. When done, yell “halt”.

Meanwhile, teams on the bases do the designated exercise for that inning on the weinke at the base. AMRAP

Since the home team is the push, they decide the mode of travel to the next base. Sprint. Walk. Bear crawl. Crab walk. Whatever. Once they choose the mode, they yell “Go!” And everyone travels to next base. Inning ends when teams end up at their original bases.

Since we only had two teams, after a brief conference on the pitcher’s mound, we decided to just do a four corner chase around the bases. 2 minutes per base. Taking turns calling out the form of travel between bases. We eschewed the buy-ins going forward.

Modes of travel called out included: sprints, lunge walks, broad jumps, bunny hops, Mario’s, crab walk, bear crawl, karaoke, side shuffles, Bernie’s, etc.

Made it thru 3 innings. Called game due to time. Could have played a 4th if it weren’t for the bench clearing brawl after the 1st. 😂

Ended with a few minutes of Mary at the statue.

The base weinkes:

Name O Rama

The Q forgot announcements and intentions (oops)

Focus: Deuteronomy 25:11. If you find a woman willing to go to bat to protect her husband by grabbing your enemy’s baseballs, she’s a keeper! Prayed for marriages, strength and courage to lead in our homes, our churches, our communities and jobs.

The tunes
