What: F3Louisville is adding its fourth official site and newest AO, The Carpenter at Joe Creason Park.
When: First workout (bootcamp) will be on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 0530-0615, and will follow every Tuesday, 0530-0615.
Where: Joe Creason Park, 1297 Trevilian Way. Meet at the Playground Parking Lot off Sheridan Avenue; 38.210188, -85.707733 (<—hyperlink to exact location). The Park offers a playground, great parking lots, a long track through hilly terrain and awesome open spaces. Some pictures below.
Why: This is a great question, and the answer is complex. Here are the main reasons to do this, in no particular order:
- OUR GROWTH IS AWESOME, BUT “PROBLEMATIC”: We are adding FNGs daily during the winter when the weather stinks. We’ve had over 250 men join F3Louisville. When things clear up, we’ll add more. Soon our current AOs will be 20+ every day. And while it’s great to have 20+ guys at a workout, it can actually take away from the experience of F3. It’s tough on the Q, it’s tough on you to know what to do, you may get less reps, you can’t talk to all the Pax at the workout, you can’t connect when you need to. This is what “problematic” means in F3 talk.
We’ve all been there; it’s okay to admit this. So think of this as a pressure relief valve for those “problematic” workouts. - Divide to grow.
- Does this mean you won’t see certain guys as much as you used to? Maybe, but maybe not. When we split the O to the O and the Poshlands, there was this concern. No issues. We became bigger and badder. Guys traveled, moved around, went after the Ghost Flag. When we split the O again to the Mutt, there was this concern. Again, no issues. We got even bigger and badder. Heck, we run between the sites to steal the Ghost Flag. Maybe you’ll need to move around a little more yourself, but that’s the fun of this whole thing. It’s never the same. And now there’s even more variety. Plus, this is only one day.
- But this is not just any day. Thanks to Tron’s Workout Robot, we now know that Tuesday is our most popular workout day. So, this actually makes sense to choose this day to relieve some pressure and grow our Pax. Less “ready, shoot, aim”. More Strategery.
- Divide to grow.
- WE NEED TO TAP INTO THIS AREA OF LOUISVILLE: We have a few Highlands guys, but there are so many men in this area and farther south that need this that don’t have a convenient AO. This removes an excuse from their list. They need this. They just don’t know it yet.
- Divide to grow.
- F3 IS A STARFISH: This is how the Starfish works. It’s getting deep, right? A Starfish is a distinct type of Organization. It is flat, having no hierarchical Governance or tangled bureaucratic web.
- Most Organizations are Spiders, in that they invest tremendous power into a single man. Cut the head off of the Spider and the body dies.
- In contrast, a Starfish has no CEO, just a cultural/spiritual Leader situated in the vague center of the confluence of appendages that comprise the Starfish itself. Bereft of Institutional power, he must Persuade to Lead.
- Each of the appendages of a Starfish is self-sufficient. If cut-off it grows into a Starfish of its own. The Starfish then grows a new appendage.F3 chose the Starfish as its Organizational model in order to harness the genius and energy of the many Leaders within its ranks. This is a way for us to harness, identify and add new Leaders to our ranks.
- Divide to grow.
Who: We’ll need everyone to step up on this one. First things first. Headlock your friends in the Highlands. ABH, ABH, ABH. CI is going to handle Site Q duties for the near term, and he’ll need you to step up to Q, and he’ll need you to show up to workout. So step up.
How: The same way we’ve done all of this. With an irreverent style all our own that mixes tough beatdowns with true friendship and care for our community.
Buckle up boys. This is just the next step of many.
