As I noted in my Pre-Blast (for the 9 of you who read it) while staying in hotels while traveling for work I found I didn’t care for the free weights & treadmills. I’ve said before that since starting F3 I view my surroundings differently than I would have before & I found this to be true in this scenario as well. It didn’t take long to determine the pool & area around the pool were absolutely ideal for what I wanted to do. This was my favorite hotel WO at because the pool was on the top floor & looked out all around the city of Chicago.

Here’s what we did…

I gave the disclaimer informing the PAX I am not a professional, but everything I say is a suggestion & to modify as they felt needed. With the formalities out of the way, we started off on a mosey to the parking lot next to where the coupons are stored.

That was enough, it was time to get to work. We all grabbed a coupon & I explained to the PAX that the two sets of cones that made a rectangle were representative of a swimming pool…don’t fall into the pool. Two PAX went to the “pool” on the left & two PAX went to the “pool” on the right to ensure sufficient room to maneuver.
The Thang: 11’s
Round 1
Starting outside of the closest corner of the “pool”:
- (1) Burpee
- Bear Crawl down the long side of the “pool”
- Mosey to the other side of the “pool”
- Karaoke down the other long side of the “pool”
- Run/Mosey to the other side of the “pool” reaching your starting point
- (10) Coupon Curls into an Overhead Press
- Go back around the “pool” performing the same movements as you’d previously done
Rinse & repeat in ascending order finishing when you’ve done (10) Burpees & (1) Coupon Curl into an Overhead Press. Upon completion, the PAX were instructed to run/mosey continuously around their “pool” until everyone was finished.

Once everyone was done I explained to them around 2 of the Thang:
Round 2
Starting outside of the closest corner of the “pool”:
- (1) Jump Squat
- Lunge Walk down the long side of the “pool”
- Mosey to the other side of the “pool”
- Shuffle down the other long side of the “pool”
- Run/Mosey to the other side of the “pool” reaching your starting point
- (10) Merkin-Derkins
- do 1 regular Merkin, then put your feet up on the coupon (which were placed on concrete parking blocks) & do 1 Derkin…this was (1)
- Go back around the “pool” performing the same movements as you’d previously done
Again, rinse & repeat in ascending order finishing when you’ve done (10) Jump Squats & (1) Merkin-Derkins. I didn’t worry about anyone finishing early because I knew no one would, I don’t know that anyone even got halfway through Round 2 when I instructed the PAX to stop & put up the coupons at 0611.

We moseyed back the long way getting to the flag at 0615 & circled up for COT.
