Back blast-Pelican Q-Peggy Baker Park 1.28.20

Today was my first time Qing at Peggy Baker but have been out there quite a bit since August. There’s always a good core groups of guys there who have worked hard to get this close official AO status. It’s a great location and if you haven’t posted out there you should soon.

Six PAX were on hand today-Bulletin (R), Meter Maid, Dauber, Coch Ran, Hush Puppy, and Pelican (Q).

We started with a mosey to the back of the park near the coupons for COP. It consisted of-

Toy Soldiers-8 x IC

Grass Grabbers-8 x IC

Copperhead squats-8xIC

SSH-24xIC

Michael Phelps

Kendra Newman’s

Downward dog and stuff

Then the one and only Thang-

We grabbed coupons and got ready for some progressive 11s. Basically did the same exercise but with one end you used a coupon. The coupon end started at 1 so it got tougher as you went.

We did the below exercises-

Cross over coupon merkins(merkin in middle on top of coupon, then right hand on coupon and left hand on ground, back to middle then the other side, we only counted the ones in the middle–um it was hard)/merkins

Coupon squats/squats

Manmakers/burpees-we got about halfway through this round and thankfully we needed to put coupons up and head back for Mary. I had like 3 other things planned to do but I’m pretty glad we didn’t make it there.

Mary was-

24 LBC IC

8 V-UPS IC

8-gas pumps IC

Finished up with some announcements-February Ruck, Bulletin Q at the Foundry tomorrow, Meter Q at the O Saturday

Did intentions-Cochran’s friend welcomed a baby to the world this week, kept the Bryants and other families involved in the crash in our prayers and last prayed for (bear with me) my cousin (Hush Puppies brother) wife’s nephews family. He was in a bad car accident last week and a couple days later his fiancée was leaving the hospital from a visit and got in an accident and died. She left behind her fiancée and a six week old baby.

The Kobe news hit me harder than I thought something like that would. I watched a lot of basketball growing up but he was never my favorite player or anything like that. I think what hit home is that his daughter and some of her teammates were onboard and it was clear he was super invested in their lives in his retirement. I guess it’s just a reminder how much things can change in a blink of an eye. Since Sunday I’ve texted a few good friends I haven’t spoke to in a bit and gave my kids an extra hug and kiss before bedtime and school each day. If you are still reading this I’d encourage you to do the same.

Shout out to Dauber and Meter Maid who were ready to Q for me right way when I told them I wasn’t feeling great last night. Always a pleasure to lead any members of this groups especially the PAX who make PB their home.

Until next time,

Pelican
