My first trip back to the house that Grinder built in a while was an exciting prospect. A busy week at work and three hour beer tasting had me less prepared than usual Thursday night. Hey no problem! The possibilities are endless in Pleasantville. Fast forward six hours and I’m driving that way, listening to the radio and the weather comes on the radio. One hundred percent chance of rain! Audible. Oh wait, nothing to audible. Luckily I had fully prepared WO on my phone and a speaker in my backseat. Tabata time…

We started out with a warm-up mosey around Oval Park, stopping at every other light pole for some SSH’s. Copperhead Squats, One-Legged Merkins (Thanks Deuce) and Burpees, possibly not in that order.
Rain was still holding out so we stayed away from the amphitheater a little longer with some 7’s from the bottom of the loop to the top. Incline Merkins and Squats. Ten minutes later it started to rain so we headed for some shelter.
Under the relative comfort of the amphitheater, I broke out the Tabata app, Seconds, for an eight exercise, three round beatdown to last 24 minutes. In honor of the impending Chiefs Super Bowl victory I’d set the music to all things 1970, the last year the Chiefs celebrated a Super Bowl win. Here we go. Forty-five seconds on. Fifteen seconds rest. Sumo Squats, Tuck Jumps, Sit-Ups, Burpees, Jumping Lunges, SSH’s, Merkins and American Hammers. One minute rest between sets. Repeato twice. This took us right up to 6:15 so we circled up right there with announcements and intentions. Thanks to this crew for picking a brother up. See you soon Pleasantville.
