6.7.23 Back Blast: Night Rangers @ Vets

So…peep this. I leave work early with ease. All the backroads I take are ‘smooth sailing.’ Get home to change out from “the man” to put on my F3 ITG gearlander, grab the tailgater and K-9 (Oliver, soon to be renamed). Head to Kroger to scoop the Gatorades and the long a$$ line at the U-scan doesn’t start until after I’m at the Kiosk. 25 minutes to spare and with my day’s luck I was sure to be at The Vet with ooodles of time to spare. Pull onto the Snyder and in my best Roy Kent impression….Fuuuuuu@%! Standstill traffic!!! Immediately I send out a DM to Lockbox and let him know my current situation. Normally, I would be aggravated and anxious but today I had a sense of calm knowing that A) there was nothing I could do about it and B) and most importantly, that he and my other brothers would have my back and take care of things until I got there.

Pull into Vets at about 1835 hours and sure as the day is long, Lockbox, Tudors, YNot, Wax-on & Diane Dukes had things handled. All 2.0’s working hard…all having fun! Dot would catch my same traffic and roll in a bit after me with Morgan and Brooklyn in tow.

Everyone made your Bird feel good upon my arrival. Oliver made everyone else feel good with his extreme booty shakes and face kisses. Set up the Tailgater and did some exercises to some classic Sesame Street songs (one in particular was Ladybug Picnic where we had to plank for the entirety of the song. Oliver proceeded to make his rounds and kiss everyone in the face and went on to kiss all of Diane Duke’s foreheads), a round of Wonky Donkey and schooled these 2.0’s on what a Tabata is and who AC/DC are. Finished up with a little Catch Me if You Can.

Our crew: Lockbox, Wildcat, Sky, Swifty, Diane Dukes, Knight Rider, YNot, Who, Dot (R), Grogu, Splinter, Wax-On, Tortoise, Google, Retro, Tudors, Adorable, BigBird (Q), K-9 2.0 Sir Licks-a-Lot

There were many great moments from a Bird’s eye view but these are the ones I’ll mention: 1) Wax-On’s 2.0 was the most excited to for his new F3 identity (Google was thought up well before this day, no doubt). 2) YNot’s 2.0 being cool with the name “Who”…I mean, YNot, Who? You can’t make this stuff up!! And 3) Furdays’ 2.0 that talked until the literal Vets park lights came on, donning a princess Rapunzel dress…there were many topics and names discussed but it seemed like “Adorable” was the most appropriate.

Closed us out with some unsaid intentions and said a prayer of thanks for our many, many blessings.

These nights are so special in so many ways! I’m glad our 2rdF Q threw theses back in the mix and can’t wait to see what else this summer will bring about!

See you in two weeks for the next one!
