So…you can’t hardly have a challenge centered around the back blast without having a back blast at its conclusion. I know, I know… “Bird,” you’re likely thinking, “it’s almost July and you’re just now getting this blast out?” Well, I had to stay true to the artistry and you know writers sometimes have to take their time, get past that block and find their happy place to produce masterpieces.
Actually, all of that is BS and I was just slacking to get this out. Anyway, the purpose of this challenge was to get some lost energy and excitement back into the blasts. The preblast lets dudes know what to expect for the beatdown yet to come. It’s a chance for the Q to throw out some hype in their own flavor to steal away PAX and maximize attendance. The backblast is a reflection of what went on that day. Who was there, what kind of crazy stories, mumble chatter, beatdown happened to give those that stayed in the fart sack or plagued by injuries FOMO. By reading that Blast maybe it provides motivation to not let another day go by without posting or to work hard to recover so that you can get back after it with your brothers.
From this Bird’s eye view I feel like we made some good headway. The energy was out there; and it was infectious. We had dudes like Edward Scissorhands doing a BB for every one of his 87 Q’s. We had guys having their VQs, getting them out there, no doubt in large part to the top notch leadership of the Site Q. We had instruction, wit, personal testimonies, glue, poetry (sidebar on the poetry: Methane made it in to my top three for his creative spin. Come to find out that he had some help from ChatGPT. Goes to show you that even an idiot robot can get a backblast out in no time flat and make it interesting enough to be worth the read.
Slide Rule’s our second place finisher. He included a bit of E’ryTHANG! If you read this blast he shared with you his thoughts, who was there, education on what it’s all about & what it means to him (which as it turns out, is what it means to most of us). This came to us, at like…day 3 of the challenge. His blast milkshake was strong and I was sure that his would come out the victor. That was until our winner would throw out some literary mastery providing would-be voters with an easy decision.
Congratulations to Kitty Litter on capturing the 1st ever ‘Walt Whitman Award for Literary Excellence and Good With Words’ award. I can’t do it justice by speaking on it. Read it on your own. I’ve reposted it to #blasts. Take from it what you will. As you read it, think about what F3 means to you. How it’s changed your life; and how you can be that next best person to share your gifts that the Sky Q has given you to make those around you better.
One last thing, Pelican will be getting a box of Walt Whitman chocolates because he’s the only one that drew the parallel between a literary legend and candy…and it’s best just to accommodate to keep him quiet.
Thank you boys to all of you who participated!
Until next blast…
