Wienke was planned. Playlist was solid-ish. HC’s were coming in so I was sure we’d have a strong turnout. Then…Mother Nature put a kink in the mix. I was up at 0200 from storms and a terrified k-9. The again at 0400 for a rinse and repeat. I was woken up for the last time at 0425 when Dauber, committed to a pre run said, IDK Bird, lighting is pretty terrible, lets meet at the garage. En route there was a tornado watch. There were drivers stopping in the middle of the freeway due to the sideways, no visibility torrential downpour, downed trees and er’y thing else that would keep any normal person from coming out. But we ain’t normal, right? Dauber showed up, we ran garage hill repeats and even came across a surprise Kitty Litter with his fierce stride stating that he was just getting out for a leisurely stroll before the beatdown that was hopefully about to take place.
Our Sky Q is pretty amazing! He gave us a horrible situation but rewarded 4 PAX with some relief at about 0520, lightened the rain, pushed the storms to the east and let YHC carry on with the wienke that was planned.
The PAX; Kitty Litter (R), Dauber, Wet Bandit (probably the least wet of all of us) and me.
Disclaimer was given and off we would go for a .25 mile little mosey, circling up for an unconventional COP spot. We would do some of the normal before a dude paying early dues to “the man” told us it was time to move.
Time for some sprints. Found a nice little straightaway to tackle 4 rounds of sprints and recovery mosey. Recover mosey to the amphitheater for…
The main Thang: using the steps we would box jump, derkin and dip for 5 reps of each on each step all the way to the top. Then 10 burpees before a mosey around and back to the amphitheater for 20 BBSUs. Increase reps to 10 of each. There was Drake, Eminem, T-Swift and 2PAC to keep us on track and motivated.
0613 and had enough time to get in some extry BBSUs to add to the total to decrease the # required for the day. Circled up at the top for COR, NOR and COT. Prayed for Dean and Tilly. Made a quick mention about how sometimes the things that are the most difficult and the most trying produce the greatest rewards. Thanks boys for rolling the dice with Mother Nature and enjoying an almost clear sky, moonlit morning by 0615 not an hour after what appeared to be the end of days!
Cheers to the start of a phenomenal week!!
Until next time…
