Old man winter is testing our resolve. I have to admit, when I look at the temps the night before and it shows single digits, staying in the fart sack seems pretty enticing. But then I remind myself what it’s all about. Getting better! Knowing that there is a Q lined up, that HIM will surely be there and that I need to get out somewhere to show support. For the past two days of this week, I told myself, “you’re getting up! You’ll be cold only for a few minutes! Your future self in the hours following will thank you for doing things not many get up at zero dark thirty in the Midwest tundra to do. I proceed to set out my gearlander so that when the alarm goes off, that’s one less thing I have to worry about as I work to stand upright and wipe the sleep out of my eyes. And by the time 0615 hits and the work has been put in, there is a next level of badassery that we all experience together as we come in tight for the Circle of Trust.

I can promise you that you will only be cold for the brief minutes getting out of your car and walking through the tunnel. As 0530 sharp hits and disclaimer is given, off we will go.
