5.1.24 Back Blast: The Bridge at Posh

If you are reading this, you’ll probably nod your head, agreeing with me that the gift of F3 we have been blessed with has made such a profound impact on who we are as men. In our group we have had men that have recently found their new identity, guys that have been coming out for a year or two or three. We have guys that have celebrated 100 posts, 200 posts, 500 posts or more with other firsts and milestones sprinkled in throughout. The friendships and bonds that have been built is justifiably the glue that makes it sticky. The sense of belonging…being part of a brotherhood.

All of this is certainly special but occasionally you find yourself in a situation where you are entirely amongst brothers and friends that you might consider the “OGs.” A good case could be made that an OG would be a HIM that posted prior to the pandemic, has made it through and still regularly finds themselves ITG. For the purpose of this blast and this day’s beatdown, going from dark into dawn at the poshiest, most majestic AO in all the land, the Original Gangstas are these five men and YHC that made up our crew and have been out from the beginning, close to when Louisville’s sad clowns were transformed into High Impact Men. They’ve persisted through personal life events, injuries, heart surgeries and yes, even the pandemic. In the words of my man Cube, “Today was a Good Day!”

The PAX: Lady Bird (R) – first post: 10/01/2018, BigBird – first post: 09/16/2017, Little Jerry and Double Down (both with Respect) – first post for this dynamic duo was together on 06/01/2017, Bob Ross – first post: 05/2/2017 and bringing up the rear is your Wednesday’s Bridge at Posh Site Q, Methane (R) – first post: 05/13/2017.

Per the norm, I rolled in hot and had everyone waiting to get going. There was a brief little ceremony before disclaimer was given and off we would go for a warm up mosey following Emma’s morning constitution which inspired a popular topic ITG. Do you answer nature’s call before or after the workout (or in Bacon’s case…during)? Bob and Emma seemed to be the only ones that have it down to a science with their routine in place. We stopped outside the egg lawn for COP to get loose and stretch out. Did some of the normal, SSH, Grass Gabbers, Downward dog stuff before…

Thang 1: Native American Run around the egg lawn and ended up at the bridge. Wednesday’s workout is called The Bridge so I figure you gotta use it at least once.

Thang 2: merkins and squats on one side, lunge walk to the top, got in some dips at the top, lunge walk down the other side, dry docks and jump lunges at the bottom lunge walk back the way we came, R&R. Recover mosey to the open lot for…

The final thang: 11’s of burpees and jump squats.

Some things I learned: Running knowledge was dropped by Little Jerry, Bob Ross has run with an Olympian, Methane does not use a percolator to brew his coffee and Double Down has a neighbor that won the showcase on the Price is Right and he also likes to TP houses.

Finished up at the flag when time was called and did our COR, NOR & COT. Thanked the Sky Q for all of our blessings and for these men that have become my friends that answered the call to do something tough in the wee hours of the morning. Thanks boys for making it out!

Until next time…

BigBird
