2.7.24 BackBlast: The Choppa at Vets

K.I.S.S. Keep it Simple Stupid. I love these workouts because there is very little instruction. No big, fat wienkes to expose, no talking over Tony Malito to explain it over and again, no confusion. Just good ole fashioned hard work for the duration of our time together.

The chicken came before the egg, where YHC had a solid KISS, 5 exercise rinse and repeat-o, heavy style workout in order. I then decided that KISS (brought to you by Apple Music – ad free) would be on shuffle on the playlist.

6 of your boys showed up to the most bad-a$$ AO in the land to see what your Bird had under his wing.

The PAX: Ladybird (Rx2), Vincent (R), Big Hose, Tony Malito, Lockbox, Toad, BigBird (QIC)

Started out with some COP to get loose. it was eerily quiet with the exception of Tony Malito asking what everyone had for dinner. The common menu item was salmon except for Vincent who had beer. Next up, time for…

The Thang: AMRAP of the following: 5 Thrusters, 5 Bent over rows, 5 RDL’s with a front squat, 5 curls, 5 Man Makers and then run a lap around the monument. Vincent was my battle buddy, Ladybird was Tony Malito’s, Lockbox and Toad were inseparable and Big Hose spread his love amongst us all.

Mumble chatter became strong to quite strong with a good deal of various topics covered. The KISS playlist was suspect. No one in attendance knew who the band was until Detroit, Rock City came on. Even the grandmaster of playlists was uncertain. His music of choice in his younger years was a little tougher with less makeup and bigger hair.

YHC called a halt at about 0613 so we could get in some Peter Parker Merkins and BBSUs before time was called.

COR, NOR, Announcements and intentions. Lifted up prayers to the Sky Q for School Zone’s young 2.0 and ongoing prayers for Mark Carothers.

Thanked these fine men for making the decision to get up, get out, get better and to enjoy the blessing of being able to be together.

Until Next Time…

BigBird
