7.9.25 Back Blast: The Bridge @ Posh

The above photo has absolutely nothing to do with today’s beatdown…unless you’re missing your Chase, Paw Patrol toy car. If that’s the case, you can find it on a bench around the Egg Lawn.

I’m going to venture to say that there was no better mumble chatter in The Gloom this morning than there was at Posh. The workout itself was a bi-product. The magic today was in the fellowship. It all started with an Apple 80’s Essentials playlist on shuffle. And conversation wouldn’t have been as grand if Husky woke up a little earlier and made it to Vets like he originally had planned. You see, in listening to the playlist we somehow landed on 80s heavy metal and Husky asks the group, “who was your favorite heavy metal band?” From there it opened the floodgates.

Things I learned today: You should listen to Joan Armatrading. Jitterbug had a Punk phase. Def Leopard isn’t heavy metal but more of a big hair band. Most like Nirvana but all like Pearl Jam. Lady Bird’s first concert was the Moody Blues. Bob Ross couldn’t remember Bob Dylan’s name. Not because he’s getting older and thinks his memory’s failing him but probably because he thought he was the guy that played the banjo. Tons of other bands and music discussion but we later transitioned to SNL skits that turned into movies. This was spawned by Bob mentioning that the movie Coneheads had a pretty good soundtrack. (I mean, come on, what??) Wayne’s World, Night at the Roxbury. Then onto Tommy Boy, Old School, Step Brothers. Then of course we transitioned to Will Ferrell and you either are a fan or you’re not. Somehow through all the discussion, we must’ve gotten a solid workout in cuz our chesticles were gassed and we had Pelican-type sweat goin on!

The PAX: Ladybird (Rx2), Jitterbug (R), Husky (R), Bob Ross, BigBird (QIC)

The work: after COT we’d do a lap by the pavilion with lunge walks and side lunge, Sumo Squats. Following that, the main thing would be a KISS loop around the egg lawn where we’d stop at the benches to do 20 Merkins, 15 Dips & 10 lunges and squats (alternating).

Returned to the startex at 0613 for 15 BBSUs and 25 IC Flutter Kicks until time was called.

Sent prayers up to the Sky Q for the life of Mark Carothers and for comfort to his family and friends during this difficult time. We also prayed for the victims of the Texas Flooding and for our Country. Thanked the Good Lord for all that we are blessed with and asked that he send us out to be a light to those that are in the darkness. Loved being with you boys this morning and thanks for making it fun!!

Until Next time…BigBird
