The weather was fantastic and 15 men took advantage by preparing refusing to hibernate early and joining a bear of a workout. PAX in attendance included Natty Light, Big Bird, Jewel, Domino, Nino, Gypsy, Diane Dukes, Mama’s Boy, Catfish, Huggies, Wide Right, Peacock, Minnow, Edward Scissorhands, and myself (Jimmy Neutron). We began promptly at 5:30 by checking for FNGs and disclaimers before we took off on a short mosey to the open parking lot where the PAX circled up.

I borrowed this one from Catfish when he introduced it in a Q he led this summer. The way his eyes lit up in excitement when I first announced the workout should have told me it was not as much “fun” as I remembered it. We started by counting off, partnering up (except I was left to 3rd wheel it), and doing bear crawl chasers around the entire bottom parking lot. Here’s how it works: Partner 1 starts bear crawling while Partner 2 runs as fast as they can around the loop. When Partner 2 catches up to Partner 1 they switch, so that Partner 2 can start bear-crawling and Partner 1 runs. The partners repeated until they completed 2 laps of bear crawls around the bottom lot.
We moseyed to the base of the baptizer. I had originally planned to do Jack Webs with 4 bear crawls/1 deconstructed burpee ratio but switched it up to 4 lunges/1 deconstructed burpee ratio, knowing that we had more bear crawls in our near future. Most PAX ended around round 6 or 7 by the time they reached the speed bump at the top. Nino was not pleased that we started at the sign rather than the first speed bump and Jewel was grumbling and some point about form and speed. Huggies was so excited he wanted to count all the way to 10 Jack Webs but I was able to convince him to stop when he reached the top of the hill.
PAX partnered up again and we started on the side of the lot closest to the houses, facing the school:
Partner 1: Bear crawl across the parking lot, complete 10 deep (subatomic) jungle boy squats, jog back and switch with Partner 2.
Partner 2: Complete as many reps as possible in a series of exercises until Partner 1 returns then switch

- Exercise 3 – Tuckees (burpee with tuck jump)
- Exercise 4 – Straight Leg Lifts
- Exercise 5 – Hurpees (hand-release burpees)
- Exercise 6 – American Hammers
- Exercise 7 – Boy O’s
- Exercise 8 – Big Boys
We worked this until we ran out of time. The Q was without a partner and was attempting to keep up with the tag-team of Domino and Catfish. Needless to say it was not a great decision.
After a quick mosey back to the flag, we did announcements (please come to the DARE to Care event), intentions (St Patrick’s quarantined classes and for the father of a HIM who passed away), and shared appreciation for another day. Thanks for coming out men, looking forward to next time!
