Sometimes when you decide to Q, you don’t know what the conditions are going to looking like (rain, cold, wind, snow). This morning was a Scooby Doo like day with conditions of 67 degrees, rain and some light fog.
9 pax made it out to support my 1,000th postiversary. If my count is right, I believe I am 2nd in posts to only Glen Ross but I likely have the most posts outside of the ‘06 (IFYYK).
Pelican was right….it wasn’t exactly 1,000 post and some slightly higher number of 1,007. The pax who beat the fart sack and chose the red pill included Montezuma, Gisele, DeVitto, Pelican, Dauber, Duffer (2.0), Viking, BigBird and Meter Maid (Q).
DeVitto had already done some prework at the Y before showing up. Duffer was getting his early work in before St. X football practice. Viking was coming off leading and scaling Mt Le Conte. He does this every year the same weekend as Fathers Day. Make plans for next year. He had strong numbers this weekend.
Started at 0530 with a disclaimer and we headed down to the Ampitheater for COP. Standard fare of grass grabbers IC, runners stretch, copper head squats IC, arm circles and Michael Phelps.
Given the rain, we moseyed straight to the parking garage. They had part of it taped off one of the entrances for cars but it didn’t stop us. Viking had called that we would do 1,000 reps. It was a simple DORA with 4 exercises- merkins, squats, big boys (Pelican hates them or says they take too long), and shoulder taps (single count). Since we had 9, there was one group of three.
I had a Bluetooth speaker that worked and I had my preloaded playlist ready to go. Lots of great Morgan Wallen and mixed in some AC DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers (for Backflop but he wasn’t there), Beck’s Wow, and Jack Harlow.
We finished out the 1,000 reps and got a few looks from vehicles leaving the garage early. We mosey back and on the way stopped to get 20 dips on your own. Viking said I should get reps for all my Qs which is 100+. He mentioned single count LPCs. Given the limited time, we stopped near start ex and did 80 LBCs. Since we were already wet, I had to throw in 10 left leg only flutter kicks IC and because Pelican said we needed to stay balanced, we concluded with 10 right leg only flutter kicks IC. Time was called and there was only some minor mumbling on getting wet at the end.
We concluded with the standard COR, NOR , announcements, intentions and prayer.
In reflecting back of over 5 years, 1,000 posts, and 100+ Q, F3 Louisville is awesome. I am glad that Airplane head locked me. The workouts are greats but it’s the friendships that keep you coming back. If my predictions are correct, Dauber and Huggies will be the next to reach the 1,000 plateau.
Always humbled to lead,
-Meter Maid
