This day was a little too long in the making as I should have Q’d at least a couple times prior. With it being tax day, and with me being somewhat of a tax nerd, I figured I would try to incorporate some interesting tax angle into the workout. However, after much thought it dawned on me, taxes just are not that interesting. So I went the lazy route and looked at my 1040 as I was preparing it and figured that number was as good as any to incorporate.
PAX (26) – Old Bay, Buschhhhh, Waterboy, Mad Cow, Cowbell, Fergie, Quimby, Sump Pump, Fridge, Noxeema Jackson, Steerage, Tiger, Geppetto, Glen Ross, Wedding Singer, Jordi, PED, Escort, Wham-O, Airplane, Ozone, Spreadsheet, Digornio, Zima, Backdraft, Deuce (VQ). No tanks though.
SSH – IC (20)
Imperial walkers – IC (15)
Downward dog – calf and runner stretches
The website had something called the “Dirty MacDeuce” and since that seemed fitting for me, I went with it and then modified a little to fit it into my 1040 theme.
PAX circled up then exercise as follows: 10 Burpees, 20 squats, 30 lunges, 40 LBCs (1040 is a stretch here I know), then run a lap around the school. Repeat for 4 circuits. A few PAX even ran an extra lap for good measure
Jack Webbs with a 1:4
ratio of merkin to air press – getting to a total of 10:40.
Another 1:4 ratio workout – 1 big boy sit up
to 4 American Hammers – again getting to the 10:40 final.
At this point I was out of 1040 ideas, but being the son of a CPA i know how much relief the end of tax season can bring and so I figured I would incorporate a song that I know many CPAs would appreciate at the end of tax season.
Played the song “Hallelujah” by Rufus Wainright. Gave PAX option to run in place, SSH or other thing during the song, but 1 burpee each time Rufus sang the word Hallelujah.
COT – Intentions were given, and prayers were said.
It was an honor and pleasure to lead the PAX today, and I look forward to the next one.
