Memorial Day Murph @ the Posh Backblast

A total of 18 HIMs gathered at the best AO in all of F3 to do a Murph (to honor Lt. Michael Murphy) and honor the other fallen on this Memorial Day: Abacus, Noxeema Jackson, PK, Big Bird, Nickelback, Ratchet, Deuce, Yogi (FNG), Magnolia (FNG), Gru, Boozer, Duck, Tool Time, Kilo, Aerobie, Nice and Slow, Huggies, and Mr. Hat (Q).

We started out with the Pledge of Allegiance around the flags, and then hit the ground running (literally). I had never done a Murph before, and midway through the first mile I knew this was going to be both tough and awesome to complete. We each completed the 100 pull ups, 200 merkins, and 300 air squats at the Poshiest Playground of all and the circled the egg lawn again and the parking lot to complete the last mile. The PAX pushed me, and for that I’m grateful. I think Tool Time (BEAST) and Abacus (also a BEAST) finished around 30 minutes. When I got back to the starting spot, they were doing 11 merkins every 30 seconds to remember our veterans who commit suicide, a workout that Abacus mentioned in the Slack channel. We did a little Mary (plank shoulder taps and can openers) to close it out and gathered around for the COT.

Prayers up for Abacus’s wife, Pope’s recovery, Jordy’s new baby, Mrs. Hat, and Vince. I am grateful for this group of men and how we push each other to #getbetter, but more importantly, how we lift up each other in prayer. We serve a Great God and Loving Father, and I am so blessed that we can approach Him together. Blessings to you all on this Memorial Day.
