PAX: Iceman, Launch Pad, Piggy, OJ, Thumbtack, Sadie, Valdez, Abacus, Drysdale, Peakaboo, Vincent, Meatball, Tony Malito, Kilo, Cutlass, Rhythm, Eastwood, Snowday, Worm, Crash, Aerobie, Hot Wheels, Diablo
I felt the PAX at The Tank were ripe for an old school beatdown. Having never Q’d at The Tank (don’t throw anything at me Kilo), I dug deep into my bag of tricks and threw some serious stuff at the PAX. They in turn killed it. Here’s what we did:
SSHs (20 IC)
Mountain Climbers (20 IC)
Imperial Walkers (10 IC)
Copperhead Squats (20 IC)
T Merkins (10)
PAX partnered up. We were on the softball field, and if you’ve ever played baseball, you’ve likely ran “poles.” It is what it sounds like – just run foul pole to foul pole.
—one HIM runs the poles
—second HIM stays back AMRAP Arnold presses with bricks
—one HIM runs the poles
—second HIM stays back AMRAP hammer curls with bricks
PAX were fully warmed up, so the Circle of Pain was ready to begin. We “eased” into it with this:
Groiners on bricks, bring them up after 5 (IC) for 10 presses with bricks. 2 sets of this.
Plank Jacks, bring them up after 10 (IC) for AMRAP lateral raises with bricks. 2 sets of this.
Step Back Lunges with bricks (20)
Front Shoulder Raises with bricks (20)
The shoulders were getting some work, but more was to come. So, PAX took a “break” with this:
LBCs (30 IC)
Flutter Kicks (20 IC)
Big Boy Set Ups (25)
American Hammers with bricks (20 IC)
Rosalitas (20 IC)
Things then got weird. How about Jack Webbs? With the bricks?!? Yes, we did that.
Merkins to 10
“Brick Presses” to 40
That was not easy. It was brutal. But, PAX killed it. My man OJ even had to help YHC with counting at the end because I was kicking my own ass.
But, did we end with that nonsense? No, we did not. So we then something else new:
Copperhead Squats into a Bobby Hurley. For this movement, YHC led PAX in copperhead squats, in cadence, but then jumped up for a Bobby Hurley. PAX did 20 of these.
Knowing I’d have PAX circled up for a beatdown, I created and played a Metal in the Gloom playlist. Some loved it, some probably wondered WTH is this, but it’s metal so I played what I wanted:
Slipknot – Psychosocial
Korn – Falling Away From Me
Rage Against the Machine – Freedom
Metallica – Master of Puppets
Drowning Pool – Bodies
Pantera – Walk
Metallica – Seek and Destroy
PAX circled up for announcements and intentions. We have several PAX in need, and we also owe gratitude to the men and women serving our country, and to their families who sacrifice for us. I asked the Sky Q to look over all of them and us, and gave thanks for the many blessing we have.
As always, thank you all for the opportunity to be a part of THIS.
