Heading into yesterday, I didn’t really have a theme or focus for my Q, but now, a day later, the soreness in my lower body is telling me that it was apparently leg day at the O yesterday. Here’s what we did…
COP @ Wham! Island
At 0700, we grabbed 3 coupons, carried them to the softball field next to the basketball courts, dropped them off in center field, and then made the 5ish minute mosey to Wham! Island for COP:
– 20 SSHs IC
– 15 Abe Vigodas IC
– 15 Mountain Climbers IC
– 15 Copperhead Squats IC
– 15 Merkins w/ 2 Count Cadence followed by Plank Progression (Regular Plank; Right Arm Up; Left Arm Up)
-10 Pickle Pounders IC
– 10 Imperial Squat Walkers IC
After COP, we had to make our way back from Wham! Island to the softball field where we dropped the coupons, so we might as well turn that trek into a Thang:
We first Bernie Sanders our way up the monstrous rolling hill known as Mount Quimby. This was tough. At the top of the hill, there was a quick 10 count, the spotting of a few nearby deer, and then we circled up for a merkin waterfall starting with 10 merkins and progressing down to 1 merkin. This was also tough. Next, before leaving the crest of Mount Quimby, we knocked out 10 more Imperial Squat Walkers in cadence. Woof.
We then moseyed the rest of the way back to the softball field for Thang 2.
The Pax broke up into 3 groups. Group 1 “ran” the bases of the softball field by AMRAPing bear crawls from home to 1st base, broad jumps from 1st to 2nd base, bear crawls from 2nd to 3rd base and then broad jumps again from 3rd back to home plate. Group 2 did AMRAP of 15 coupon curls, 15 overheard coupon presses, and 15 coupon rows in centerfield. Group 3 ran the perimeter of the softball field and then relieved Group 2 from the coupon exercises who then relieved Group 1 from the bear crawl/broad jump infield exercise. Each group completed one rotation of the 3 stations and then we headed back to the field hockey field for Thang 3.
The Pax partnered up for a modified Dora exercise with coupons. Partner 1 lunge walked with a coupon to midfield, dropped the coupon, sprinted to the end of the field, did 10 squats, sprinted back to the coupon at midfield and then lunge walked with the coupon back to his partner who had been doing AMRAP of Rosalita’s. The partners then switched until they reached a total of 200 Rosalita’s.
We then did a second round of this same routine but switched out the Rosalita’s for gas pumps.
It was now 7:57 and so instead of ending early, we did 10 BOYOs, 10 Imperial Squat Walkers, and 10 big boy sit ups. At some point during this, Trump reflected about his last bourbon the prior evening maybe not being the best idea. YHC knows the feeling, but we all got through it together…as we always do.
We counted off, did name-o-rama, named the FNG brought by Zonka (welcome Chili Dog!), made announcements and then turned our focus to intentions. Before we concluded, I thanked the Pax for letting me lead them and made my best effort to lead us out with words of encouragement and a short prayer.
