We gathered in the Gloom this morning for a core-focused workout. I also used the opportunity to say goodbye to Mean Gene Okerlund and to impose a wrestling conversation on the PAX. Neither disappointed. There were references from the extremes of Hulk Hogan to Koko B Ware. And yes, I still have Road Warrior action figures (not dolls, action figures), in my house. And, I don’t “play” with them; I reimagine awesome childhood moments.
Anyway, you can learn a lot about a person when talking wrestling.
We learned, for example, that Methane, Jitterbug, and Loco surely saw classic events at The Gardens back in the day;
that OJ likely has a steel cage in his shed for hardcore events;
that Captain Insane-o has undies at home with an airbrushed image of himself on them;
that Tron not-surprisingly appreciates technical proficiency in his grapplers;
that Nino likes his men pretty;
that Digiorno likes his men dark and scary;
that Kilo is a closet redneck despite his flare for neon;
that Nice & Slow is very, very macho;
that Iceman may have grown up in a world without wrestling;
that Red Roof is probably out limousine ridin’, styling & profiling as I type this;
that Flo Jo is a nationalist lumberjack;
that Violet believes the new world order is evil;
that Shiplap definitely practiced wrestling moves on a weaker, smaller relative at some point;
that Fridge likes leather-clad men in tandem;
that Scuba Steve hates tables that belong to Spanish speaking TV announcers; and,
that Gillespie thinks we’re all candy-asses.
Oh, we also got a helluva workout in this morning. Here’s what we did:

While still at LCA, PAX partnered up for:
Curb Merkins AMRAP
Step Ups 10 each leg

PAX then gathered for subsequent instructions. It is here that Captain Insane-o asked YHC, “Are you going to stay here or go somewhere else?” I replied, “Well, we’re going to mosey over next to the bathrooms.” Insane-o uncomfortably and squirmishly said, “Great. I’ll see you there.” And he took off.
While Insane-o was inspecting the park facilities, the PAX gathered right outside his door for some additional work.
PAX partnered up for:
15 Box Jumps
(Rinse & Repeat)
At this point, Insane-o rejoined the PAX, slightly sweaty, a little wobbly, but much more relaxed. PAX then moseyed to the tennis courts.
PAX again partnered up for:
Partner 1 20 big boy sit ups
Partner 2 holds partner’s feet in plank position.
Switch, rinse & repeat (3x)
That was 60 big boy sit-ups mixed in with some prolonged planking. No reason to complicate things sometimes.
PAX then lined up on the tennis court sideline. Partner 1 ran length of the 4 courts, and at the end did 50 side to side line jumps, and then ran back to relieve and switch with Partner 2, who was repping out AMRAP squats. On the next round, Partner 1 ran length of the 4 courts for 50 front to back line jumps before running back to relive and switch with Partner 2, who was repping out the AMRAP squats. When both were back at the starting point, both ran down together for 5 burpees, and then a hard sprint back.

PAX were about spent, but we still had time to circle up for:

And that was the 45 minutes.
We moseyed back to the flag for COT, Name o Rama, and announcements / intentions, including Insane-o giving a good news update on Double Down, who evidently returned to work today! (Man is that awesome.)
