Is imitation the sincerest form of flattery? I think so. And, I sincerely think both Abacus and Alexa are true HIMs and complete badasses in all things F3, so attempting to imitate them could only lead to good things, right? Well, I can’t say everyone ‘enjoyed’ the workout that I borrowed from them, but the thirteen of us got a little better on Tuesday morning, together in the gloom.
PAX: Tammy Faye Baker, Vincent (R), Vacuum, Snowman, Scuba Steve, Loco, Violet, FloJo, Shank, Shiplap, Gillispie, Wham, Grinder (Q)
Before we get into what we did, here are a few shout outs:
- Thanks to Vacuum for coming out. Monday at the Vet was his first ever workout, and he showed up the very next day to post at a different AO. Love it!
- Thanks to Loco for always keeping the mood light. I think we were all close to the seventh or eighth round of our ladder workout when he said something like, “Grinder, I really thought I liked this workout a few rounds ago, but now…”
- Thanks lastly to Scuba Steve for slowing down to Grinder speed on his last running lap to share a little 2ndF with me. I loved the fellowship and the reminder of why I choose F3 over the gym several times a week.
Now, on to the workout. After a short mosey, around the near side of the loop, we stopped at the tennis courts for COP: SSHs, Hillbillies, Grass Grabbers, Downward Dog and Michael Phelps. Next, we all grabbed coupons and returned to the courts where we did the same Thang, non-stop, for the next 35 minutes – a ladder routine that I borrowed from Alexa, who had borrowed it before from Abacus. My exercises and amount of reps were slightly different, but it was basically the same thing (I’m even going to steal Alexa’s description from his BB. Shhhh!):
Each round consisted of a new workout PLUS all the workouts for the previous round. In between each round, we ran around all four adjoining tennis courts. Once a PAX completed all rounds and runs, reaching the top of the ladder, they’d climb back down. Everything was You V. You, so every HIM was able to push to his respective limit.

YHC called time with a couple minutes to spare and we circled up for some light stretching to cool down before heading back to the flag to circle up for COT. Reminders were given about voting for awards and RSVPing for the upcoming banquet. No one had intentions, so we jumped right in to giving thanks for all we have and then headed off to start our day.
Humbled, as always, for the opportunity to lead and thanks to Wham for being a great Site Q at the BoW. He’s the best.
